Johny Hendricks wants GSP to get knocked out

Johny Hendricks is planning to shock the world this November by beating Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight champion Georges St- Pierre (24-2).

Hendricks (15-1) is on a 6-fight-win streak. He earned his shot of the belt by defeating top ranked opponents including Carlos Condit, Martin Kampmann, Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch.

Hendricks told MMA Fight Corner Radio that he wants to knock the champion out the right way.

“You train, you do everything, you’ve done everything that you could and to know that your boss believes in you that you can beat Georges St-Pierre means everything,” he said on MMA Fight Corner Radio. “That’s just confidence that you can shock the world. The only difference is Georges won’t have his hands down. I want to knock him out, but I want his hands to be up. I want to punch people’s hands and I wanna lay him out the right way.”

Hendricks will try to become the first person since Matt Serra to knock out St-Pierre. He and his training staff have analyzed St. Pierre’s fighting style and he is prepared for St. Pierre’s wrestling. He claimed that he has more power than he has ever had inside the Octagon and plans to use it this November.

“The only people who know my true power are people that I’ve wrestled and that’s about it,” he said on MMA Fight Corner Radio. “That’s what I’m excited to bring out is that kind of intensity, that kind of power that I haven’t shown the world yet, and I plan to do that in November.”

“That’s the hardest part is stepping in against a guy who’s had the belt since forever ago. The most important thing is that I believe that’s my belt. He’s just holding onto it for me.”

Hendricks and St-Pierre will go head-to-head on Nov. 16, 2013 at UFC 167: St-Pierre vs. Hendricks at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

This is an excellent match. Bring her home Johnny.

    • Kmart says:

Poor Johnny is delusional. His hype train will end very soon. Gsp by decision.

I predict GSP will not only win but dominate him. I was at the Hendricks vs Kos fight and he was very lucky to get that decision, I personally thought Kos had it. Both times GSP has fought Kos he has completely controlled it from start to finish.

I like both of these dudes. I’d like to see Hendricks win, but I just don’t see him beating GSP. GSP is the best by far of any of the champions in the last few years so far. Hendricks might catch him with that left, but barring that, I think GSP grinds him out. Hendricks didn’t look all that great against Condit and GSP handled Condit fairly easily. Not sure Hendricks has what takes to beat the GOAT.

Lost to Rick story and split with josh kos….enough said

johny is very dangerous and capable, but the champ is a brilliant tactician and makes very few mistakes. GSP by decision

if gsp does lose which is what im hopn for…BJ U MUST CALL OUT GSP FOR A 3RD TIME

  7. Steven Thurman says:

Hendricks has really sloppy stand up, all he really does is lunge that left out over and over, you couldn’t beat condit on your feet, and you wont have any luck against GSP either. His quick kicks and jabs are gonna control the distance enough to keep that left from crushing, and his td will prevent him from being taken down. It takes a very technical striker to catch GSP, I wish Hendricks would win, but I don’t see it happening

    • Gargoyle Wrestling says:

I’m pretty much in your camp except for one thing that Hendricks has that he could capitalize if GSP is not ready for and that is Hendricks speed. Especially his ability to close the distance quickly. I think he will take a few of the GSP jabs to get in close for that left. I have, on good authority, that Hendricks is working on that left move with his right as well for this fight. We’ll see.

      • Steven Thurman says:

Well would ya look at that, Gargoyle and I partially agreeing again. This is just getting weird! Lol

        • Gargoyle Wrestling says:

Twilight zone huh? That’s just because you are Canadian and you are biased in your support for your countrymen. Lol!! Don’t get me wrong here though, I’m a definitely GO USA ALL THE WAY Rah!! and would like to see Hendricks KO GSP, BUT, GSP is sooo f’ing good everywhere, its hard to see Hendricks beating him.

        • Steven Thurman says:

Haha Exactly! jk though, haha Yeah GSP is way damn good, and so smart in the cage. Hahah I, in most cases dont go for people based on country, but if they are a veteran, like Stann or Kennedy, then I cant help but to cheer them on! lol I mostly want a WW champ that will try to defeat the opponent, and not just win by points. Especially one that barely squeaks by, like Benson Henderson. Lol Go Hendricks, but GSP probably wont lose this time.
