Johny Hendricks wants GSP to get knocked out
Johny Hendricks is planning to shock the world this November by beating Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight champion Georges St- Pierre (24-2).
Hendricks (15-1) is on a 6-fight-win streak. He earned his shot of the belt by defeating top ranked opponents including Carlos Condit, Martin Kampmann, Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch.
Hendricks told MMA Fight Corner Radio that he wants to knock the champion out the right way.
“You train, you do everything, you’ve done everything that you could and to know that your boss believes in you that you can beat Georges St-Pierre means everything,” he said on MMA Fight Corner Radio. “That’s just confidence that you can shock the world. The only difference is Georges won’t have his hands down. I want to knock him out, but I want his hands to be up. I want to punch people’s hands and I wanna lay him out the right way.”
Hendricks will try to become the first person since Matt Serra to knock out St-Pierre. He and his training staff have analyzed St. Pierre’s fighting style and he is prepared for St. Pierre’s wrestling. He claimed that he has more power than he has ever had inside the Octagon and plans to use it this November.
“The only people who know my true power are people that I’ve wrestled and that’s about it,” he said on MMA Fight Corner Radio. “That’s what I’m excited to bring out is that kind of intensity, that kind of power that I haven’t shown the world yet, and I plan to do that in November.”
“That’s the hardest part is stepping in against a guy who’s had the belt since forever ago. The most important thing is that I believe that’s my belt. He’s just holding onto it for me.”
Hendricks and St-Pierre will go head-to-head on Nov. 16, 2013 at UFC 167: St-Pierre vs. Hendricks at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
