Johnson vs. McCall II Placed In UFC on FX 3 Headlining Slot

We already knew the bout was booked, we knew the date as well, but what we didn’t know until now was that this flyweight rematch has been slated for the UFC on FX 3 headlining slot.
UFC on FX 3 is tentatively scheduled for June 8, but a location and venue have yet to be revealed by company officials.
A winner for this bout should have been selected during the UFC on FX 2 fight card that just passed us a few weeks ago.
However, the MMA gods didn’t see it that way and due to a scoring error, the original bout that was initially scored for Demetrious Johnson, was eventually ruled a draw and Ian McCall now gets a shot at redemption with this rematch to determine the UFC’s flyweight tournament finalist.
In the initial matchup the fighters signed specialized contracts that called for a fourth-round tie breaker in the event that the bout ended up as a draw, but due to the scoring error made at ringside they never got to fulfill this once in a lifetime opportunity to go to a “sudden death” UFC overtime round.
The two flyweights are now booked for that fourth round (and possibly three more if they draw after three again) and they will square off in June on UFC on FX 3 card.
The winner will face tourny finalist Joseph Benavidez for a chance to be the first ever UFC flyweight champion.
“The Ultimate Fighter Live on FX” Finale is set to take place on June 1.
