John Cholish vs. Gleison Tibau added to UFC on FX 8 | UFC NEWS
A lightweight battle between Gleison Tibau and John Cholish has been added to the UFC on FX 8 card that will take place in Brazil on May 18th.
Tibau (26-9) is a UFC veteran having fought 18 times in the octagon, going 11-7 in that span. He is coming off a Split Decision loss to Evan Dunham at UFC 156. Despite being one of the more seasoned veterans on the UFC roster, Tibau may be fighting to stay employed. He has lost 2 of his last 3 fights and this could fall under the must-win category to stave off being cut by the UFC.
Cholish (8-2) is also coming off a tough Unanimous Decision loss to Danny Castillo at UFC on Fox 3. He is 1-1 in the UFC, having TKO’d Mitch Clarke in his octagon debut. The fight with Castillo was the first time since 2008 that Cholish’s fight went to a decision. He is an entertaining fighter that is constantly looking to knock out or submit his opponent.
UFC on FX 8 is set for May 18th at the Arena Jaragua Do Sul in Santa Catarina, Brazil. The card is headlined by the Middleweight match-up of Vitor Belfort vs. Luke Rockhold.
