Joe Lauzon vs. Michael Johnson Added to UFC Debut on FOX Sports 1

The UFC will debut on Fox Sports 1 on August 17 with a night of fights live from Boston’s TD Bank Garden.  The fight card for UFC on FS1 1 continues to take shape, as it has been revealed through a number of sources that Joe Lauzon and Michael Johnson will face off in an exciting lightweight fight.

Joe Lauzon (22-8) is coming off an incredible five-round war with Jim Miller.  Despite losing a unanimous decision, Lauzon will be coming into this fight with momentum, as the Boston native is sure to be the hometown favorite.

Michael Johnson (12-8) is coming off two straight losses.  The Blackzilian fighter, and season 12 runner-up from The Ultimate Fighter, will be looking for a big win against Lauzon to make a statement in the lightweight division.

The UFC’s deal with the new FOX Sports 1 cable station will be replacing the events currently running on Fuel TV and FX.

Lauzon vs. Johnson is the second fight announced for the UFC on FS1 1 card so far.  Earlier this month, it was announced that Thiago Alves will return to the Octagon to face Matt Brown.
