Jim Miller: “I’m Looking To Fight The Best And Destroy The Best”

UFC lightweight contender Jim Miller is looking forward to making a statement Saturday night against Strikeforce title challenger and recent UFC import Pat ‘Bam Bam’ Healy.

UFC 159 goes down this Saturday on Pay-Per View in Newark, New Jersey; the home state of the tenacious Jim MIller (22-4).

The New Jersey native was recently featured on Darce Side Radio, where the scrappy jiu jitsu stylist made it clear that he is looking to put on a great show for the fans. “Hopefully, in this upcoming fight on Saturday, I can find my opportunities and find some of the things that are going to make people go ‘ooh’ and ‘ah’ and make a statement.” Jim Miller has always been a crowd pleaser, submitting more than half of his opponents and earning several ‘submission of the night’ bonuses. When he isn’t seeking a limb or neck to wrap around, Miller is still putting on a show with great scraps like his ‘fight of the night’ win over Joe Lauzon at UFC 155 in December, a fight he took on short notice. “I’m looking to fight the best and destroy the best. I’m more motivated than ever to beat these guys up and put ‘em away,” Miller went on to say, giving the MMA world easy-to-understand insight in regards to his plans for 2013.

Miller’s opponent on April 27th, Pat Healy also displays a gritty and in-your-face style, with his own stockpile of submission victories. Healy (29-16) was a staple in the Strikeforce lightweight division, and is one of the many promising imports to step into the octagon. ‘Bam Bam’ is coming off a decision victory over Kurt Holobaugh at Strikeforce’s closing show, Saffiedene vs. Mardquart this past January, and he will look to build on his six-fight win streak with a big win over a game opponent like Jim Miller.

“Fighting comes down to very small things, very small details can mean a win or a loss,” said Miller who is expecting a war with Pat Healy this saturday at UFC 159. On paper this fight could be very close, especially on the ground. What does Penn Nation think?
