Jason “Mayhem” Miller Arrested, Again
| Jason Miller has been on a roller-coaster ride ever since he was released from the UFC a little over a year ago. He’s been in jail, he’s been involved in off-the-wall, mind staggering interviews, and now, as of Sunday morning (August 11th, 2013) he’s in jail once again.
Mayhem filled his storied career with wacky antics and sometimes questionable behavior. He was in many great fights in his time but he will be more well known for his out-of-the-cage incidents and the troubles he’s faced most recently. MMA Mania has reported that Miller was arrested on Sunday morning and is being held at the Central Jail Complex in Santa Ana, California.
Although Miller’s entire career has been peppered with odd situations and happenings the past year and a half have been a complete train-wreck for the former MMA fighter. Here is a recap of what has taken place since his release from the UFC in May of 2012: On August 12, 2012, Miller was arrested on suspicion of Burglary charges after breaking into the Mission Hills Church, where he was found naked wearing only a robe. He was released on $20,000 bail for that incident.
He later did a crazy interview with Ariel Helwani in October of 2012 in which he tried to portray his character from the film “Here Comes the Boom” but took it much too far and eventually walked off the set of Ariel’s show, The MMA Hour.
Then, in July, 2013, he was invited to be a guest on Fox 11 Sports to talk about his soon to be released clothing line and maybe an eventual return to fighting. However, in typical Mayhem manner, in the middle of the interview he pulled out a knife and started to cut into his shirt because he claimed he was “hot”. The interviewer was extremely uncomfortable but the segment went on for another six minutes.
And now it seems that Mayhem has found himself in another hole as he is in jail once again.
The Orange County Jailing system originally did not release any information about the arrest but they did confirm that Mayhem was indeed the one who was arrested. It was later confirmed by lieutenant Jeff Hollock of the Santa Ana PD that the official charge against Miller is Domestic Violence 273.5 PC. Miller was released at 12:21 AM local time on bond and is now in the care of his family. MMA Mania has been working with the OC PD to gain more details about the situation and BJPenn.com will be bringing you all the updates as they become available.
