Jacare vs. Carmont winner could get a title shot

Who will get the next crack at the UFC middleweight strap?

Champion Chris Weidman will defend his belt later this year against Vitor Belfort.

Just who will face the winner of that bout will likely be determined this weekend.

Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza fights Francis Carmont in the co-main event at Ultimate Fight Night 36, live from Brazil.

UFC President Dana White earlier this week that the winner of the fight, or the winner of the UFN 36 main event Lyoto Machida vs. Gegard Mousasi could get a title shot against the winner of Weidman vs. Belfort at UFC 173 on May 24.

What do you think? If Carmont pulls off the upset, is he deserving of a crack at the title?

  1. team backfist says:

    1.Machida 2.Souza 3.Mousasi 4.Carmont… like always, it’s how they perform.

  2. Gogoplata says:

Souza vs. Belfort or Souza vs. Machida (for the MW title that Chris “Lucky” Weidman will lose to either one of them.) Those are dream fights that I hope become reality.
