Is Batista Taking his Training Seriously? Offers Contest to Train With Him | MMA News

Dave Batista is getting ready to make his long awaited mixed martial arts debut and the news is receiving a lot of attention. The popular wrestling site Lordsofpain.net is reporting that Batista’s Management is holding a contest for a chance to train with him while he gets ready for his debut. Since this is his first MMA fight, and one that will likely define whatever career he decides to make off it – maybe distractions aren’t a great idea Dave.

There are some reports floating around that Batista may or may not be training as hard as he should be. The thought is that he is a natural athlete and is too strong for your average Joe.

Here’s what Lordsofpain.net put out:

“Batista is giving the fans an opportunity to come train with him at his gym in Tampa, Florida as he prepares for his MMA debut fight later this year. Fans can tweet Batista’s manager @JohnnyRyanJr and tell him why you should win the contest to train with Batista.”

Is this a wise decision, to be distracted with so much riding on this first fight’s outcome?

who cares…another WWE circus side show attempting to gain further notoriety using MMA. any top 30 fighter would destroy this fool.

    • McLovin says:

      Couldn’t agree more.

    • lonothedogg says:

O rly dumbass he’s a baby in the sport of course a top 30 fighter would destroy him

      • DocHoliday1968 says:

I couldn’t agree more about the idiotic comment being in the top 30 lol Bastista is popular yes and a killer wrestler no doubt, His 1st MMA fight will show what he has done with or without this contest…

    • DocHoliday1968 says:

That has to be the most idiotic comment out here about Batista lol No shit he would be smacked by a top 30 with himself having ZERO MMA FIGHTS! Wadda idiot to make that comment!

  4. Jason says:

Who cares if he was in the WWE? If wants to try and make his mark in MMA,who’s gonna stop him? He is not a circus side show,Show respect to the people who compete in this sport,it’s the toughest sport in the world.

    • GRT 3000 says:

I do compete in this sport…which is why I don’t like tool-bags like Batista USING it just to create hype. It muddies the image and brings down professional athletes who have trained their whole life to compete at this level. He’s not serious abt this…he’s just trying to be Mr. Famous, that’s all I’m saying. he needs to fack off with that shit.

      • jbeamazing says:

what is he hyping sounds to me like he wants the real thing my question is why not, just wait till more crazy athletic cats enter and learn mma the Olympic wrestling team looks like the future, mma changes so fast hope your not past 30 GRT 3000

        • GRT 3000 says:

the article says he hasn’t been training much and now he’s looking for a photo op with fans when he does. I’m not past 30 but I bet Batista is past 40…maybe I’m wrong I dunno, but to me it seems like bullshit.

        • jbeamazing says:

yeah i think he is almost 50 lol its all bullshit until it gets real in the cage

        • Ok says:

you’re dumb. how do you know he’s not serious? because he was in wwe at one point? he’s offering the contest to help his brand and gym. He trains at Gracie Fighter in Tampa. It’s a new place so I think it’s a good idea
          Stop being a crybaby

  5. BigWilks says:

He is an animal and should do well. Giving him disrespect is out of order, he will be an amazing fighter to watch because his stand up will be tremendous.

    • ballsackface says:

giving respect to a blatent juicer

bet you were calling out roidereem but yet you want this guy to have respect??

hes a ****, he gets none

      • JoeDirt says:

He gets no respect? Weather he took roids or not look where he is in life then look at you. Youre behind a keyboard talking shit, while hes out working his ass off making something of his self. If he gets no respect, you certainly dont. You sir, are ignorant.

        • dogfart says:

you dont know what the fuck he does really do you. so you to call someone out for that is stupid

money and fame doesnt command respect. hes a juicer and a bad role model for that purpose. the fact that you want him to have respect when he has got his money from imjecting testosterone to such a degree that he is subhuman shows the level of person you are.
Ignorant? i think you need to look up the meaning.
you clearly shouldnt be an mma fan and should stick to hulk acrobatics (pro wrestling) because you do not understand the concept of MMA.
we do not need juiced up fairies with more money than sense in our sport. we need real fighters that do not care about anything other than fighting.
there are about 30people at my gym that look like him and bigger. roids makes it completely possible and pretty achievable in a small space of time.
          respect LOL idiot

        • Trefher says:

money and fame doesnt command respect. -dogfart

Well… in the real world money commands respect… i love mma, but i’m just being realistic. haha.

  6. danielrchargers says:

    boo this man

  7. DocHoliday1968 says:

    Best of luck Batista!

  8. Dallass says:

Can’t wait for this **** to be slammed in a real MMA fight. These guys think they can do it, I like to see the baby come out of them. WWE is a joke. No need to reply, just watch the fight. If he wins this fight against a low-end fighter, he will come against many, many others who will tear his ego to shreds so much that he will beg to come back to WWE.

  9. Axeingar says:

He might be stronger then any average Joe. But Bruce Lee said it best.
“He might be really strong, but is he powerful?”

  10. lolziez says:

whether anyone respects him or not. whether anyone thinks his great or not. whether anyone believes his hype or not. the man is famous and makes money, so whether any of this is true or not, its irrelevant because his career, life, goals define him, not y’alls comments and opinions. so whether you like him or hate him, his name and face is already on ur mind so his job is done already..

  11. Shawn says:

Hershel Walker is 2-0 in Strikeforce, he’s hittin d 50 mark, and never fought professionally in his life. Lesnar became the UFC HW champ and defended it. Lashley, was tearing it up when he first started. Anyone how bashes others for giving MMA a go, either 1. Has no fight or training experience whatsoever or 2. Isn’t a real fighter. Real fighters don’t give a crap about others. They just care about their own training and who they will be fighting next. Who cares if half of WWE switches over. Some may make it, some won’t. As long as they put on a good fight, they could be ballet dancers for all I care. If you aren’t willing to get punched in the face in front of a bunch of people, stfu.

  12. Ste says:

    hhmmm –

“The thought is that he is a natural athlete and is too strong for your average Joe.”

I wouldnt say Natural, I think he has had some sort of help to get like that………….
