Invicta Fighting Championship 1 results: Marloes Coenen Vs. Romy Ruyssen

The main event headlined former Strikeforce bantamweight Champion Marloes Coenen against challenger and upcoming rising star, Romy Ruyssen in there long awaited rematch since 2008 in Switzerland. Coenen weighed in at 146 pounds, and Ruyssen at 150.4 but later cut down to 149.8 after a couple hours. Although Ruyssen was a bit overweight, the main event continued on.
Kansas State Athletic Commission rules mandate that opponents, with the exception of those in the featherweight division, must weigh within three pounds of each other in order to compete the following day. Opponents in the featherweight division must weigh within five pounds of each other.
Fighters who were overweight were fined 10% and had 2 hours to make weight. If by then the weight still hasn’t been made; fighters were forced to forfeit 25% of their purse, and the fight will be conducted at a higher weight class.
Also on the fight card were other talented fighters such as Olympic medalist Randi Miller, former Strikeforce fighter Liz Carmouche, former Bellator fighters Lisa Elllis and Jessica Penne, and many more up and coming talents.
