Ian McCall Ready to Be Done with Demetrious Johnson & Wants To Move On And Get His Title | UFC News
By Jamie McAllister
Ian McCall in an interview with MMAWeekly Radio.
McCall comments on his rematch with Demetrious Johnson.
“I just want this to be over with and done,”
“This time I want to put a stamp on it, I want to finish the fight and really just get it over with so I can go on and get my title.”
On the previous fight after the controversial call that cost them the fourth round after the scores were added up wrong and Johnson was announced the winner.
“We have a lot of motivation because I felt I won the fight, he felt he won the fight, and we had all the drama behind it. We put on a great fight the last time and it has it’s ups and downs I guess,”
However McCall sees the positives in the rematch and feels he performed nowhere near his best.
“The biggest gaping hole in my performance was my stand-up. I’m a much better kickboxer than I showed. I mean, just watch my earlier fights, I’ve never been outstruck and I was, on the feet at least. It wasn’t bad, but I didn’t do the things I should,”
“I just have to rough him up. I need to not chase him around, just get a hold of him, and just really beat the crap out of him.”
McCall also believes he got all that Johnson has to offer that night and there is not much more he could give in the rematch.
“I really feel like he gave me all he had. He did everything he could. I think definitely I obviously showed I’m the better grappler, better wrestler, and now I just need to prove that I’m the better striker,”
“You should never say ‘this guy can’t knock me out’ but I pretty strongly believe he can’t. Anything can happen in MMA, or just sports like this in general, but I think there’s a pretty good chance after feeling his power he’s never really ever going to be able to knock me out.”

Uncle creepy sounds a little cocky and excuse filled. I thought he won the fight the first go around but the way he is talking Is making me think he is in for some instant karma.
He just tries to make it exciting for the fans I feel he won the first fight if it would have gone to the 4th like it should have uncle creepy would have finished him and I this time uncle creepy will be all buisness and finish Johnson it will be an exciting fight dont miss it.
Can’t stand the weight classes under lightweight they all look like smufs fighting !!!
eh… with the three rounds he had with Johnson, I felt like he lost 2 rounds to 1. i thought the decision was good despite Johnson getting ragged doll from the back for the closing moments.
Uncle creepy won that Fight 4 sure…..
Johnson is lucky there was no fourth round. He was cooked after the third.
McCall is super cocky and he looks like a ****in lesbian but hes a beast. I think either way this fight turns out tho the winner loses to Joey Benavidez
I thought he won it without a doubt but I’m glad theres a rematch, well see how this goes
Does he sound cocky? Yes.
Is he wrong? No.
You could tell in the post-fight interview that McCall was just pumped for a re-match because he knew at the end of round 3 that all he had to do was not doubt himself and the fight would end itself.
If you watch Demetrious’ responses, you can see the disappointment in his eyes. All he could say was how sorry he felt for Benevidez having to wait. But you could tell, he simply did NOT want to get in the ring with McCall again.
McCall will break him in the next fight.
Shouldbe another sweet fight. Probably gonna be McCall Vs Benevidez in the final. with Benedvidez getting the belt. Can’t wait.
And to the fat ****s saying they don’t want to see midgets fight. STFU, no one cares what you think, go eat another cheeseburger.
YOU ARE RIGHT….These guys are dynamic, I agree Benavidez is the new champ.
