Holly Holm Offered $250,000 To Return To Boxing – $15K By UFC

While Holly Holm may be currently resting up after her last win due to a broken arm, she is still making very sustaining business moves. Holm has one fight left on her contract with Legacy FC, and plans are already being made for any other possible options. The IFC and WFC welterweight champion made the official move to full time mixed martial arts training last year and has already created an impressive undefeated 7-0 record and was hopeful about talks to join the UFC. However, Holm’s coach Mike Winkeljohn told mmafighting.com that the UFC initial bid was $15,000 to show up and $15,000 to win. This is currently causing a little conflict and hesitation with Holms because of an offer to return to the boxing circuit that she also dominated (33-2-3) for $250,000.

A European boxing promoter is currently offering her this hefty sum to return and fight multi-title holder, Cecelia Braekhus, according to Legacy FC promoter Mick Maynard.

While Holm and her camp is still looking towards a fight against UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, obviously having this sort of offer will make a difference in future negotiations.

Braekhus, for her part, has already begun responding to Holm publicly, saying that she was “very, very disappointed” that she would not get the chance to fight Holm, however, Braekhus’ manager just came right out and accused Holm of being scared:

“It’s sad that a great career ends like this – now she will always be remembered for running away from Cecilia Braekhus, the best female fighter in the world.”
