Hendo Plans On Beating Jones For Five Straight Rounds | UFC NEWS

“Two Pride belts and the Strikeforce light heavyweight belt; I guess there’s one more to get on my list and that’s the UFC belt. With Jon Jones, I plan on winning every round. I want to make sure I win every round so there’s no question. If I can hit him in the right spot pretty hard at the right time and finish him, it’s even better. I think he’s a little bit cocky. Thinking you’re much better at something than you are and you’re going to get caught in a spot you shouldn’t. I feel like things that I need to watch out for most is probably his elbows, his knees and a little bit of his kicks. Not so concerned about his hands. Once I’m inside and tight with him, I plan on definitely putting him on his back and seeing how he fights from there. We haven’t really seen him on his back at all. I don’t plan on wasting this opportunity. I plan on making the best of it and making sure I come out on top no matter what it takes. If I can do what I know I can do, then I’m going to beat anybody out there, no matter how big they are or how small they are. I know that I can beat anybody out there if I perform the way I know I can.”

  2. Diaz bro says:

War Hendo, atleast he ain’t going in scared like most of Jon Jones opponents, Gl Hendo!

“Thinking you’re much better at something than you are and you’re going to get caught in a spot you shouldn’t.”

Like in Silva’s RNC? Or getting decisioned by the SF Champ, Jake Shields? Or how about when Rampage decisioned you?

All the respect in the world to Hendo, an amazing fighter, but don’t be a hypocrite. You did the talk-talk in all those fights and came up short.

    • Silva is a bad example. He has beat everyone he has fought in the UFC, so that is a terrible example. And Henderson has never said he didnt want a fight because of ” not enough money” being in it for him, like Jones said about Machida. And Henderson has always been a man when he lost.
And yeah, he talked the talk, and walked the walk. Henderson comes to fight, every time. Sometimes I dont think he has a reverse gear.

      • MMAHawk says:

Silva is a great example. Jones has beaten all of his challengers. His only loss is a DQ. As for being a man, his excuse for losing to Silva was that he wasn’t feeling well.

As for a gear, he seemed to hit neutral in the 3rd round against Rua and crawled along in the last two rounds.

Not saying he can’t win, but the likelihood is remote. He’ll either get subbed, TKOed or will gas in 3 and get finished like Rua did before the 5th.

  4. Magoo says:

Lmfao……I think he actually believes it
    Hendersons gonna get smashed.

  5. MMADAWG says:

I love how everyone is looking past Dan Henderson. Even though this guy is an idiot, Cheal Sonnen said it best. ” Every time Dan comes in a underdog, he wins”. If and when Jon Jones starts getting cocky standing up, Dan will put his lights out. Dan is a LEGEND and he has 2 things Jon Jones doesn’t. 1) Years of experience and 2) ONE PUNCH KNOCK OUT POWER!!! Hell, cut Hendos left arm off and he still has a chance. WAR HENDO!!!! LAND THE H-BOMB!!! BOMBS AWAY BABY!!! hahahha

    • JD says:

I agree. I wouldn’t put my house on hendo but i’m definitely rooting for him. I just hate it when people first come on the scene talking about how humble they are and about their “christian” morals. Jones is as cocky as anyone out there, he’s just more smooth and not as brash as others such as chael. how u gonna have a bible verse tatted on your chest but walk around with your nose in the air and talking about how great you are. Like you said, “BOMBS AWAY” HENDO!! teach this kid some humility

  6. Clay says:

Fighters go in the octagon on such a high. A rush. There’s no way bones is losing this fight

  7. Hungrydead says:

    GL hendo.

  8. YoMamma says:

This is going to be a great fight. Not only is this the only fight I’m actually worried for Mr. Jones. Sure he’s fought some incredible fighters. But Dan Henderson is a different beast all together.

I don’t see the fight lasting 5 rounds. I see Jones winning by TKO or Hendo winning by KO. I can’t fathom it going any other way. I honestly don’t see it going 5 rounds. Hendo is getting wayyyyy ahead of himself… Sure he’s in great shape.. But my personal opinion is that this fight will end in the first 3 rounds. I don’t see it going into the Championship rounds.

  9. ballsackface says:

hendo doesnt have the cardio to go 5 rounds at the pace jbj fights at.

hendo has a chance but only if he either hbombs his ass or he slams him and smashes his face.

eitherway this is gonna be an awesome fight and i dont care who wins cos whoever wins will deserve it

  10. MMACRAVER says:

    Hendo will TKO Jones!

  11. jbeamazing says:

Hendo is my fav but if he don’t ko jones by the first jones wins easy

  12. Mark Munoz is a joke says:

I don’t like jones at all
But Hendos in big trouble ..
He has no 4th or 5 th round ..
He’s dead halfway through the third ..
Anyone of us pussies could have knocked him out after the 5th round of the shogun fight …
    RIP Dan hendo

  13. Sting says:

Hendo is just hyping this fight up as much as he can coz he knows that bones jones is going to knock him into retirement so he really needs this last big payday to count. Ain’t no way he’ll be contending for another title after this fight. Jones is going to destroy hendo, expect a more polished and more confident jon jones.

  14. CombatRusse says:

    Big up to Hendo
He, like all Team Quest fighters (including Sonnen), go to fights while believing in their chances. They are not falling in oppenents hype. That’s why I think that Henderson is a real threat to Jones.

  15. Cole says:

Jones must watch out for those hands, as hendo only needs one good punch. But I do agree either Jones by TKO or Hendo by KO. If Hendo takes him down it won’t be until the 4th or 5th when Jones is tired.
