Happy With Retirement Says Fedor Emelianenko | MMA NEWS

I am still training, but I am not training for a fight… Recently I went to Greece on vacation with my family and had a great time. Retirement is very enjoyable and I am content with my life… No I do not miss the ring (laughs)… I still planned to be involved in sport and hopefully I can coach and teach the next generation of sportsman.”

In an interview with MFight, “The Last Emperor”, Fedor Emelianenko discussed his happiness with hanging his gloves up for good.

Props to for the find.

    • Pancho says:

Is it a coincidence that you’re Canadian and using Bret Hart’s slogan?

    • T.DADDY says:

No that’s Brett Hart… Sorry… Lmao.. best at fightin scrubs maybe.. :) had a great run in pride but will always be remembered as the guy that DUCKED the best comp, and the guy that was scared to fight in the UFC aka. The big show and ruined his legacy buy fightin washed up tomato cans… He quit in the Bigfoot fight and he got his ass ko’d in the Hendo fight those are the only real comp he fought in the last 5yrs and looked what happened… I still wish he wuda came to the ufc back when Brock was ready to pound him through the mat

  2. stephen riddle says:

Never got to the ufc!? Smh!

  3. Rob says:

    He wasn’t the best

  4. Cheeseballs says:

He was good but most of the fighters he defeated in that streak were sub par at best. When they started giving him good competition the steak ended. Then he left in search of weak competition again to boost his ego. If the guy was that great he would have wanted to fight the UFC guys but instead he avoided that competition for bullshit reasons. i doubt that M1 was ever able to pay him what Dana would have offerred. G.O.A.T? I think not. Most overrated fighter of all time!

    • stephen riddle says:

How long would that streak have gone in the ufc? I think randy wouldve took him out, thoughts on that?

    • riDICKulous says:

the only real reason why Dana avoided bringing him into the UFC was because of all the reasons that he told the media was in fact the opposite.

Dana likes to market his fighters as products of the UFC. Fedor not only fights in the cage he fights in competitions in all the disciplines that he trains in which Dana doesn’t want.

      • T.DADDY says:

Once again a ill informed gaydor fan.. dana said gaydor was offered a one of a kind contract.. he said gaydor can go do sambo every Thursday night if he wanted to.. but M-1 and gaydor wanted part of the ufc and dana said kick rocks… Brock wuda murdered gaydor’s ass anyway wit his weak ass takedown defense..

  5. xyahino says:

he was good for what he did,,,greatest of all time idk doe

  6. yt o says:

Fedor would’ve been the UFC champion for a while. Thank M1 for ruining that chance.

  7. Mike b says:

He’s had a lot of great fights.i don’t think he’s the best….he is one of the best.his fight with Cro cop was one of the best heavyweight fights I’ve seen.i mean he destroyed arlovski, hunt, big daddy,Silvia, and coleman.his fight with big nog was awesome.but I still think he never really peaked cause he never fought in the UFC or fought top notch competition all the time.he is still a legend.

  8. Shadleigh says:

Fedor did not drop to 205 to fight Hendo u idiot , capindathoe93. It was a heavyweight bout. Hendo weighed in at 207. Fedor was around 230.

  9. Shadleigh says:

Fedor is NOT the GOAT. He wouldn’t even be top 5 right now in the UFC heavyweight division. He is one of the best ever, but defenitely not #1. His last 3 fights he fought a nobody and two has beens to pad his record before he retired.

  10. hellawaits says:

fedor vs brock is the same with velasquez vs brock, fedor wins all the way and say randy beats fedor is stupid, and if you no remember fedor and randy wants this fight happen but dana white dont let randy.
and besides that the guy is retired be happy he have a good life,
    thank for great moments fedor
