Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre has his sights set on becoming the David Beckham of Mixed Martial Arts. The 36 year old Los Angeles Galaxy star player has a whopping salary of £160million, and earns around £26million from sponsorships. (The Sun) St. Pierre only earns £5million for headlining a PPV fight. St. Pierre said “My goal one day is to be the David Beckham of MMA but I still have a lot to do to reach that point. Mr Beckham is a great role model and I aspire to do the same.”
GSP suffered an ACL tear in December while training for a fight with now-suspended fighter Nick Diaz. Georges has his sights set on a November comeback against interim Welterweight Champ Carlos Condit at UFC 154
