Former UFC welterweight king Georges St-Pierre walked away from the sport of MMA recently after his controversial decision victory over Johnny Hendricks back in November.
The former champ took some time with Brazilian Media outlet SportTV.Globo to shed some light on where Georges is at about his possible eventual return to MMA.
Georges was asked about a potential “super fight” with Anderson Silva upon his return. The question that has been lingering on fight fans’ minds for sometime now. Even more so considering Anderson still has some time to recover before he entertains the idea of fighting again. By the time Anderson is up and ready maybe Georges will be down for the bout.
To prove that it’s more about the challenge and less about the title the former champ even through out the idea of throwing down with former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar. In a fair fight of course.
“There’s always a possibility,” said Georges. “I would fight Anderson Silva. I would even fight Brock Lesnar if it’s a fair fight for both. I’m not afraid of anyone, but I’m not stupid.” Georges said amusedly.
