Georges St-Pierre Beat Johny Hendricks. Twice.
Just two days after losing his bid for the welterweight strap, Johny Hendricks has had salt poured in the open wounds from that battle, as EA Sports officials announced that “Rush” has knocked “Bigg Rigg” out of the “EA Sports UFC” cover contest as well.
… okay maybe he didn’t have any open wounds. But you catch my drift.
St-Pierre is one of the final four candidates (selected by you, the rabid fans of the UFC) to join UFC light heavyweight champ Jon “Bones” Jones on the cover of the upcoming UFC video game, due out in the spring of 2014. UFC lightweight champ Anthony Pettis will be GSP’s next opponent, after “Showtime” was voted past UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo.
The other side of the bracket sees its own share of history repeating itself, as Chael Sonnen won his contest against Michael Bisping – “The Bad Guy” will face Alexander Gustafsson next.
The next round of voting ends Nov. 24, at which point just two candidates will remain.
