GSP Cast in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ | MMA NEWS

Georges St-Pierre has a new opponent and it isn’t anyone in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. His new opponent will be Captain America. St-Pierre was just cast in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” which is the sequel to “Captain America: The First Avenger.” The first film grossed more than $176 million to date.

The news of St-Pierre’s movie casting was first reported by Latino Review.

The UFC Welterweight Champion, who last defended his belt against Nick Diaz on March 16, will be playing villain French kickboxing master Georges Batroc, also known as Batroc the Leaper.

Although St-Pierre appeared in other movies that went straight to DVD, this will be his biggest movie gig. The film is set for release on April 2014 and will begin production soon. He will join Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson among others in the movie.

    no way.
    that’s actually kind of cool.
The first movie was terribly awful, but its cool that he gets to work with Sam L. Jackson.
and for Sam L. Jackson to work with Georges.
    win win.

WTF? The first movie was awesome!!! This should be good. I think a French Canadian with an evil squeaky voice makes a great villain. I always thought America should invade Canada and take that country over. Who’s in?

      • Robert says:

Lately I have been thinking that America should mind it’s own business and fix it’s own country. That will never happen you you speak for the masses.

…you tried. google war of 1812 lol

        • GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT says:

Maybe you should google the war of 1812 jackass. Pretty sure it was between USA and the Brits!

the natives of CANADA burned the White house not once but twice!, then the Americans made it white as if nothing happened…the war of 1812 was the brits, natives of canada and canadians under britain against America..I guess they dont teach that in the states…get your facts straight

        • allmightysandman says:

LOL…listen “get your facts straight” bitch…our first nations, along with the brits that colonized CANADA took care of this…we weren’t called Canada yet, but it was Canada don’t fool yourself.

If you’re going to tell someone “get the facts straight,” it helps your argument when THEY are wrong.

Most regions alter history to reflect more favorably upon themselves. For instance the American Civil War is(or at least was) called “the war of northern aggression” in school text books 30 years ago when my parents were in school.

Interesting fact, 201 years of peace between the US & Canada. Possibly the longest between any 2 neighboring states in the world. Pretty good aye?

  2. UFC 84 Forever says:

Neat; will affect his fighting schedule at one point, though this has never been a problem in the past (and he’s been in a few flicks before; granted none of this magnitude).

    Movie will probably suck though…

  3. K2 says:

And Van Damm will be his fight/stunt double.

  4. Foffof says:

So they’re filming in Quebec then?? Since that’s the only place GSP can do any work apparently…
