Gonzaga and Brown set to fight at TUF Finale | UFC NEWS

While the next contender for champion Cain Velasquez is still up in the air, the heavyweight division has just added another date on its calendar as Gabriel “Napao” Gonzaga and Travis “Hapa” Browne have agreed to collide on April 13th, as part of “The Ultimate Figher Finale: Jones x Sonnen” card. The bout was announced today by UFC president Dana White via twitter.
The former number one contender Gabriel Gonzaga is coming off three straight wins via submission, two of them happening inside the Octagon. “Napao” defeated Ednaldo “Lula” Oliveira on his UFC return, on January 14th of 2012 at his hometown of Rio de Janeiro, then following it with a 2nd round guillotine choke over “Big” Ben Rothwell at UFC on FX 7, also in Brazil. The 33-year old grappling specialist will certainly look for one more tap-out as he tries to ressurrect his career.
Travis Browne also saw himself in a three-fight win streak when he stepped onto the Octagon to face Antonio “Big Foot” Silva at UFC on FX 5 on October 5th of last year, but ended up being knocked out in the first round on what was his first defeat on 15 professional bouts. Now, the 30-year old Hawaiian will try to get back into his winning ways to prove that his impressive resume that turned him into one of the most promising heavyweights in the world is no fluke.
