Gina Carano a Bigger Fight Than Cyborg Says Rousey’s Manager | UFC NEWS

Fight fans around the world have been itching to see UFC Champ Ronda Rousey square off against former Strikeforce title holder, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos. However, after the brazilian’s recent move to Invicta FC, talk of a “superfight” between Rousey and fighter-turned-actress Gina Carano has emerged. Ronda spoke to the New York Post last week, expressing great respect and admiration towards Carano, but made it clear that she would take that fight should Carano return.
Rousey’s manager, Darin Harvey, appeared on The MMA Hour and spoke about the potential match up. It seems that Team Rousey believes that a fight with Gina Carano would be much bigger than one with Cyborg.
Harvey on Carano:
“Gina has a very lucrative movie career and it doesn’t really make a lot of sense for Gina, but, Gina is a fighter in her heart and I think Gina may want to prove that she can beat someone like Ronda who is considered the best. I am very close to her (Carano’s) manager and we’ve talked about it on occasion. But, I would never want to see her (Rousey) fight with somebody that I like. It’s a very tough thing, but, it is a business and they would get in. Sparring partners get together and they beat the crap out of each other in the gym so they certainly could do it for real. From a PR and pay-per-view (PPV) perspective it would be a huge, huge monumental event.”
Harvey went on to mention that Carano’s good looks and movie star status contributed in making her the big fight.
“I think Carano because she is a bigger name, you know? She’s a movie star and they are both incredibly beautiful girls. And, by the way, I’m not saying ‘Cyborg’ is not attractive, you know what I mean?”
Gina Carano hasn’t fought since the summer of 2009, and has since started a successful acting career. The former face of WMMA hasn’t ruled out a return to the fight scene, and a bout against the ever impressive Ronda Rousey is sure to pull great numbers for the UFC.

I think Gina should do it.. What does she have to lose? Dana would offer her a nice payday and probably a PPV % so no issue on money.. Gina doesn’t have to worry about her face getting beat up cause Rousey only looks to do one thing and its not to punch in your face like cyborg.. And if u get arm bared so what, u walk out of the UFC with the biggest wmma fights, piece of history and a nice addition to your bank account!
