Georges St. Pierre vs. Johny Hendricks set for November 16 in Las Vegas

The recently announced title fight between current UFC welterweight champion (24-2 MMA, 18-2 UFC) Georges St. Pierre and number 1 contender Johny Hendricks (15-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) now has a date.

According to a report by Ariel Helwani on Tuesday’s (June 18, 2013) edition of “UFC Tonight” on FUEL TV, the 170-pound title fight will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 16 and will likely serve as UFC 167.

A venue for the event has yet to be announced, but it will likely take place at either the MGM Grand Garden Arena or the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

St. Pierre made it 8-straight title defenses when he defeated Nick Diaz in the main event of UFC 158 this past March in Montreal. “Rush” hasn’t lost a fight since 2007, when he was upset by Matt Serra at UFC 69, since then the French Canadian has gone 11-0 inside the octagon.

Meanwhile, Johny Hendricks also last fought at UFC 158, where he defeated former UFC interim welterweight champ Carlos Condit in a ‘fight of the night’ performance. “Big Rig” has now won 6-straight fights, including two first round KO victories over Jon Fitch and Matrin Kampmann respectively.

Stay tuned to for further details regarding the fall title fight.

  1. Holy Shit says:

GSP won’t be fighting in Canada… Could this be a sign of things to come. I see this as either Hendricks winning or GSP winning then stripped of the title after drug test.

  2. GOT RID OF FITCH (forever) thanks dana says:

Commissions don’t test for all the expensive PED’s like GSP has been on for 10 years such as HGH, EPO’s, DEsigner steroids (victor Conte’s) undetectable steroids. blood doping list is endless. GSP is subjected to weekly testing to make sure nothing shows up even though he hasn’t ben tested for anything since 2009-2010. GSP hasn’t been tested in his last 4 title defenses because no testing in Canada and by their own admission GSP has not had to make weight either. I wish Hendricks camp would petition to have GSP VADA tested during his entire training camp. When ROIDY macdonald was VADA tested it was an outright joke. First off ROIDY himmed hawed back and forth for 5-6 weeks before he finally took take all the backlash from media and fans about everything calling him ROIDY for showing up to Nate Diaz fight with worlds WORST case of ROID induced BACNE ever known to science. Then a day or 2 before VADA testing people were do to show at ROIDYS door he magically got cut sparring without head gear so he bought himself another 11 weeks to clean up.
GSP can afford the best PED/STEROID’s in the world as well as the masking agents. My guess is he does what all other dirty fighter do and that is simply supply them with someone elses urine, which is beyond simple to do.

Someday maybe 5 yearsfrom now or even 10 years from now GSP will be exposed for being a STEROID and forever will be remembered as the Lance Armstrong of MMA
