UFC Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is enjoying a well-deserved vacation at the moment, soaking in the sun and presumably attempting to calm his overstressed mind. And although he’s undoubtedly going to have a lot of issues to deal with when he arrives back in Montreal, finding his previously stolen Range Rover won’t be one of them.
City police officers have apparently recovered the stolen SUV, which was found only yards from where it had initially been stolen from, this past June.
“Believe it or not, they found it parked on the street next to where it got stolen,” GSP told MMAjunkie. “When they found it, there were many tickets on the windshield, and they found out it was my car.”
Unfortunately, it seems that the thief (or thieves) did more than just drive the luxury vehicle around. Luckily for St-Pierre, his insurance company covered the theft, and GSP was reimbursed with a new toy.
“They took a ride with it and they messed it up a little bit,” St-Pierre said. “[But] my insurance covered me, and I got a 2013 Range Rover.”
Oh, the hardships one must endure. Color me jealous.
In the end, the welterweight kingpin lost a winter coat, but was able to recover some of his gym equipment that had been left in the SUV. He’s happy about that, I’m sure, but what he really wanted was to catch the people responsible in the act – leaving us to ponder exactly how that would have turned out (I personally think we would have seen a new land speed record set).
We here at BJPenn.com are glad to hear everything ended fairly-squarely for the champ.
…those thieves couldn’t have ‘andled his riddum, anyway.
