Frankie Edgar On Penn: ‘I have his number’

“I do think I have his number, every fight is different. I’m going to approach this as a new challenge. I’m not thinking he’s going to come in the same as he did the last two. I expect him to come in and change a little. I want to show my improvement over the last three years. I think he was kind of close to retirement and I think another loss will maybe decide it for him.”

Former UFC lightweight champion, Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar, tells UFC Tonight that he believes he will likely retire MMA legend, BJ Penn in their third meeting.

The two former champions are set to collide as coaches of The Ultimate Fighter season 19 and will face off in the cage sometime in April of 2014.

Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn have fought on two fseparate occasions, both times Edgar walked away the victor by earning unanimous decision victories.

Edgar’s getting schooled. You’s are 1-1 and Bj’s winning this trilogy.

  2. Night-Wind says:

I had a dream last night that BJ won this by decision.

  3. Drew says:

At145 no way bj will loose to edgar, we all said bj penn in good shape etc will see it again. BJ Penn will get that belt.

  4. Night-Wind says:

Veggie, actually many people think that BJ won the first fight. You must be new to the sport.

  5. The Way Of The Dutchman says:

Yeah Frankie ‘the rematch’ Edgar will be 1-4 in the last 5 fights after this one. I think it’s time for the running punching bag to retire.
    .
He has BJ’s number? I hope Edgar’s corner knows how to dial 911 to get him a whambulance.

Get it straight. I like BJ but he is 0 for 2 against FE. BJ is the one asking to fight Edgar. He did lose in the books and that’s what counts. BJ at 145? Please he is older, he has been as much as 200lbs recently, Edgard is very close to natural walking around weight at 155 so 10 lbs is nothing to lose, and FE does know how to beat him. Sorry Dutchman but BJ has actually gotten pummeled by his opponents recently and serves as much of a punching bag as anyone . This fight is just going to have to happen in order for you bleeding heart bitches to learn that this is a sport and when your time is up it’s over. BJ is getting beat for the 3rd time no doubt

      • The Way Of The Dutchman says:

If Edgar manages to beat BJ then that would be a second time, cause no matter what moronic judges and Edgars fanboys say he did not win that first one.
        .
I agree that BJ didn’t do well in his last fights, but a big reason was that he got outweighed so much. That won’t be the case now so I expect more this time.

        • 757 says:

Bro he actually had the size advantage at 55 against Edgar. It wont matter again for the third time. Edgar does have his number.

  6. Cut The Crap says:

People saying Bj’s washed up blah blah are ridiculous and this whole little statement started out from one man saying it and morons passed it along. Bj has won basically every decision he has but moron judges always robbed him. Look how good he did against top contender Jon Fitch, dominated Nick Diaz for the first round but all you lagoons who go around saying this “crap” about him probably plays a part In his head. GTFO Bj’s schoolin Edgar. Btw, Bj’s 34, Anderson’s 38 but I guess he isn’t old right.

  7. 757 says:

Somebody tell this guy that fights are longer than the first min of the first round. Ha Ha morons? That was the stupidest thing I think Ive seen on here. He got punished by Nick and never was he dominating. Sorry guy you will see him get smoked in this fight too.
