i doubt frank will try to take it to the ground, unless he gets desperate, but if bj tries to take it to the ground, say goodnight to edgar

agreed, i see this fight taking place a lot in the clinch. Bj should be able to use the cage effectively and land those beautiful knees, elbows, and uppercuts.

I agree but i saw on inside mma they said bj hasnt really fought any top level wrestlers in the lightweight division. Considering diego only wrestled in highschool where frankie wresstled in college. Will the difference in wrestling pedigree make a difference?

Interesting to see what game-plan Edgar comes up with. I don't see Edgar coming up with anything that he could defeat BJ with, whether he stands with BJ or attempts to take it to the ground. Edgar could try a Randy Couture clinch-game, but don't think it'd work too well.

I agree that frankie cant win this fight in the clinch as bj's uppercut is too powerful i can only see frankie using a shogun vs machida typed of strategy to win the decision

If Frankie can strike well enough to set up the shoot, he will be able to take BJ down. i think the only way he will be able to do that is if he mixes up enough effective leg kicks and creates alot of angles. That being said, if BJ stuffs one shoot, he could really fuck Frankie up. BJ buckles guys in the first 2 exchanges pretty constantly. To know what you have to do to beat BJ is a diferent world then doing it. BJ doesn't quite have the same aura of invincibility GSP or say silva do, we have all seen BJ loose, but only against fighters that will be in the hall of fame, in a higher weight class. i would like to see some featherweights Jose Aldo, maybe Faber move up to take a crack at em. Aoki 1-fight contract please?

Yeah..... Bj works well inside the clinch and usually lands some nice parting shots breaking away. If GSP couldn't take down a fresh BJ Penn how thw hell is Edgar gonna do it now that BJ doesn't gas after the first round?

Get Aoki's ass over here so BJ can legitimatize his supremacy at 155 and move up.

I like Frankie as a fighter and BJ shouldn't underestimate him now with that said, There is no way Frankie will be able to take BJ down, It's just not humanly possible for Frankie... This is the biggest fight of his career but Frankie in the octagon with BJ is like setting someone loose in a cage with a Tiger.... No take Downs for Frankie and the belt comes back home to Hawaii... BEST advice for Frankie, Don't run your mouth at the weigh in and you should be OK....Just ask Diego....LOL...

Matt hughes could barrely do it what makes you think Frankie will. Plus, why would you want to take BJJ world champion Penn to the ground , your juss asking to get choked out.

NO. It is nearly impossible to take Penn down. You have to have a distinct size advantage to overpower him in order to do it, and there's always been talk about how Edgar is a little undersized for 155. If Florian and Sanchez couldn't get him down, Edgar won't either.
