there are some people that say gsp should meet bj at catchweight, i disagree. dont get me wrong bj is my favorite fighter but what would a catchweight match do? bj said himself "its not about who is the biggest strongest guy but the most skilled" and on gsp's side he could have the mind set "i beat him 2wice why would i need to drop weight to fight him" i honestly think bj should fight him at 170. what yall think agree or disagree???

BJ can't beat GSP! It doesn't matter how hard he trains he simply can't! GSP is incredibly strong and athletic much more so than BJ. I do however think BJ should move up to 170 and see how he does. The lightweight division simply cannot compete with him.

GSP doesn't deserve to be in the same ring as BJ because GSP doesn't deserve to have the sanctity and comfort that the ring rules provide for ALL fighters. In the last fight between BJ and GSP, actions speak louder than words.
Still, I'm curious to see if GSP will redeem his cheating heart somehow and fight like a man, honoring the rules of the ring. I hope he does because despite everything, I think he has a lot of potential to be a greater fighter and sportsman.

Magoo, my point is that it doesn't matter what GSP comes in at..170-196lbs, the level that BJ is at right now is a totally different person compared to who fought GSP the first time. You cannot take down what you cannot catch. Like another member said..BJ was taken down only because he was too tired to sprawl, and allowed GSP to take him down. At this point in BJ's development as a fighter, he is too quick, too elusive, and his counter attack is spot on. I was more impressed with the quick feet and body control of BJ than anything else. Every move he made was with purpose. He is a better striker and grappler and GSP knows it...Now he has a never ending gas tank. GSP will stall out the rematch for as long as he can, mark my words, he doesn't want to fight BJ any more than anyone in the UFC lightweight division.

Don't worry Dennis GSP won't have any trouble making 170,and if you think BJ was over powered last time out, look out Bud GSP gonna be even more powerfull next time,I'm with you though the sooner they fight the better BJ looked great against Diego, but GSP aint no dirty Sanchez.GSP will take him down when he wants and will be able to pass his guard again the results will be the same Victory for Georgie.

BJ could fight GSP at his current weight of 156lbs and beat him at 196lbs. GSP needs to get down to 170 if he wants it to be a legitimate welterweight title defense. BJ should not have to put on unnecessary weight to face GSP for the rematch/welterweight belt. He should be able to fight at the weight he is most comfortable at, as long as it's not greater than 170. The BJ we saw face GSP last time would get his head knocked off by the BJ that just got done dismantling Diego Sanchez. I can't wait to see BJ get a chance to redeem himself against GSP.

True catchweight fight is a waste of time.

There will never be a BJ vs GSP catchweight fight. GSP is already a huge 170lb fighter, he will never come down lower to fight. As a matter of fact in the future he may move up to 185 so he does not have to cut so much weight, he has expressed long term health conserns from cutting weight. So all the talk on a catch weight fight is just that talk, it will not happen and besides the UFC has no reason to make that happen.

Agree completely, In my opinion, BJ is the p4p best fighter in the world. But size does matter in fights, thus the reason they have weight classes. Anderson Sylva can move up and down in the weight classes more because he has more relative body mass to work with. It is just as easy to ask BJ to cut 10 LBS of muscle to fight at 145 as it is to ask him to put on 15 to fight at 170

We all know the saying size doesnt matter ... but it does when the two challengers both know what the hell there doing ! if there almost evenly matched on a skilled level then size and strength is next to dictate the outcome...
