I saw a couple posts on this and I think wikipedia has a lot of people confused. If someone would like to correct wikipedia for me it would be greatly appreciated. My father is Irish so im half haole or hapa and my mother is half native hawaiian and half korean. That means her mother was pure native hawaiian and her father was pure korean. For the people who wonder what native hawaiian people are, they are simply the race of polynesians that were here before captain cook arrived. These people are the natives of hawaii.

I know for you it's a very personal issue , but in general the focus should be on the man. The focus should be on your talent and what you've done for MMA, Jiu Jitsu, and Martial Arts as a whole. The focus should be on the person and not so much about your ethnicity, I've heard this crap before and I think it's ridiculous, I don't understand the questioning in the first place. If you weren't a " True Hawaiian" would it make the work you've done in Hilo and the positive attention you've brought to your community any less impressive?
All I know is that you seem to be a very special human being. Physically talented, mentally tough, extremely focused, and kind hearted.
You represent the traditional ideal of a martial artist. You would be a terrific friend, and a terrifying enemy.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
