Mayweather vs Pacquiao: negotiations in progress for fight in early 2010

The talks have began for the upcoming megafight. I hope both sides come to an agreement and they don't make us wait weeks just to find out when the fight will take place. We all know this fight WILL break all records and A LOT of money will be made on both sides. So they should just make it 50-50, and a catch weight of 145. I don't think Mayweather will have any problems making 145, despite what happened with Marquez. This fight, IMO, will happen in May. The same month that Oscar fought Mayweather and they set the record in PPV buys.

Also, Bob Arum, Pacquiao's promoter, was in talks with Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, in having a boxing fight around May or June in the new Cowboys stadium. With the size of that stadium and the hype that Mayweather vs. Pacquiao has drawn, this would be the perfect place for the fight. I hope it takes place here.

A lot of people are basing there opinions on the fact that they dislike Mayweather, instead of looking at the numbers. Mayweather is EXTREMELY talented at boxing and he'll prove it next year. Pacquiao's weakness is counter-punching. That was his problem vs. Marquez. Mayweather is the best counter-puncher in the sport today and that's why Pacquiao will lose. Mayweather fights at his best when he's being chased down, so Pacquiao is feeding right into his game. I doubt Mayweather will KO Pac-Man, but i'm sure he'll take a unanimous decision.; ▶ Reply to This

Everyone wants to see a fight. Not another typical boring Mayweather fight trying to stay safe. I want to see for once Mayweather bringing it to Pacquiao. I personally would give Mayweather Mad Props if he beats Pacquiao with a KO. No one wants to see a fight decided by Judges. Permalink Reply by Jenuel on November 23, 2009 at 6:58pm: thats true james. pacquiao will be remembered as one of the greatest fighters to ever live, but so will mayweather. if and when mayweather beats pacquiao, his status will be just as high as pacquiao, if not higher. despite of what you might think of his personality, you can't deny what he's accomplished as a boxer. he's beaten every single opponent put in front of him. and in 40 wins and 0 losses, he only has 1 controversial victory. which he later shutdown by completely dominating Castillo in the rematch. so all in all, Mayweather AND Pacquiao, are already two of the greatest boxers to ever live.
