Forrest had his ass handed to him. Now he has to "man up" and rebuild. Everyone reacts to setbacks differently. A champion learns from defeat and grows.
Griffin's true strengths are his likeability, work ethic and sense of humor. Perhaps his real talent lies in promotion of the sport. Dana views him as a surrogate son and one of the fighters responsible for the huge growth of the UFC initially. White is loyal and smart - Griffin will have a home regardless of this fight. A major set back or a building block - remains to be seen.
No disrespect intended here but Forrest is a goofy uncoordinated powerful guy with no real precision striking ability, they way he fell was cartoonist almost buffoonish.
His legs flailing about reminded me of a person getting an electro shock, poor bastard!
They way he punches is just from memory, its not fluid or adaptable in the moment. Dana just wanted somebody to trade with Anderson and force him to fight and KO somebody for the ratings.
Forrest isn't that smart and had no game plan, he should have tried to smother Anderson and pull him to the ground, I use the word "try" because he had a snowballs chance in Hell standing up with that buck tooth goofy punching style of his.
eh...I thought Forrest had a chance. As he does, and as he did in this fight, he starts swinging like a wild man and running towards his opponent. Just didn't realize how fucking awesome Anderson Silva is at dodging punches.
Sure, I've seen him do it other fights before but I thought his little dancing/dodging was just all for show but damn he used it effectively in this fight and made Forrest look sloppy as hell.
Oh well. I still like Forrest and hope he wins his next one and is able to move past this defeat. He shouldn't feel too bad....in his own words, he makes good fighters look "bad".
