"Jose Aldo came out and said, 'There's no way in hell I'm fighting Pettis,'" White said following Saturday's UFC 157 post-event press conference. "He's absolutely refusing to fight Pettis – doesn't think he deserves the shot."

I'm actually surprised by this, anyone else?

I don't think aldo can outstrike pettis but I think he could take him down. I wouldn't fight him either. Fighters shouldn't be able drop a weight class and leap frog all the previous contenders, espicially without ever fighting in that weight class.

Dana specifically said Also said all this.

I wouldnt want to fight Showtime either with the way he is kicking dudes unconscious. I dont like how Jose is pulling an Anderson here.

I think Showtime takes the strap.

Aldo scared? Lol...probably wants more money and is pulling an anderson. Aldo hasn't been facing the (no disrepect) cerrones, lauzons, stephens or guidas, he's fighting top guys in mendes, kenflo and edgar. Pettis may deserve the fight on his skills but not by his wins, no ones got a title shot by beating any of those guys pettis beat.

A zombie-like Florian is not a top guy. He looked awful at FW. Plus Showtime is winning more impressively right now by finishing. Showtime has earned his long overdue shot at LW. The UFC is trying to make "superfights" happen because GSP, Jones, and Anderson are playing games. It's like really, take the damn fight. As a fighter you shouldn't pick who you fight. If they want Aldo to fight Pettis or Josh Grispi he should sign the dotted line. It's his job.

zombie like florian is still a better name win than any of the guys pettis beat in the ufc. pettis should at least fight one top lw or fw before getting ANY title shot. fanboys are so ridiculous, first they agree with the sonnen jones match and now this - although i think this fight is more warranted than jones v chael.

No he is not. Cerrone is miles above K-Flo and i think 2012 Lauzon would murk K-Flo. Showtime is winning convincingly and finishing dudes with his strikes. Aldo is working guys early only to gas badly because of the horrifying amount of weight he can't cut in a healthy manner. Showtime don't even cut to make LW. Pettis is due his title shot from like 2009 but the Jersey Shore clown and Lay and Praynard held up the division. And then the Jersey Crybaby robbed Pettis of his title shot the second time. Who doesn't want to see this fight? Apparantley only you and Aldo.

And for the record i never said Chael deserved his LHW title shot. But he actually said yes to the fight unlike every other guy who said no like the runner Machida who is dicktucking like Aldo is right now.

Yes indeed. I'm a huge fan. But what from that last post was not correct? Is he not working guys early only to gas in the end?

Did no one else (other than the match official) notice all the grease in Vitor’s mullet? Not that it made a difference but that’s not to say it wouldn’t have – had the heel missed the pip…
