Following Silva Fight Fitch Believes He Has Caught His Second Wind | UFC NEWS
“Erick Silva’s a very tough fighter, but I believe this is the new Jon Fitch. I kinda got a second wind in my career, and we’re gonna see a lot of bigger and better fights for me.”
“I think it’s partly an accumulation of years of training and finally having the confidence in my full skill set, to really open up and not worry about making mistakes in a fight, knowing that even if I do make a mistake, I’ll be able to find my way back on top for the win.”
“The welterweight class is so up in the air right now, that I don’t really know who I’d have to fight that could put me in that kind of position. All I know is that I need big fights and impressive fights, like the last one. Whoever they put me up against, I just hope to have a good showing against them to get me closer to a shot at the title.”
“It can be frustrating, but as long as you’re going out there and producing in fights that the fans wanna see, and convincing the fans that you’re the guy that deserves that shot, then it’s a little less frustrating, if you accept how it is and move forward from there.”

I never liked the Lay n Pray way he fought before, but if Fitch keeps fighting like he did against Erick Silva I’ll actually enjoy his next fight.
Can’t beleive I’m saying this but I’m looking forward to seeing Fitch’s next fight.
Well I hope the New Fitch will be trying his best to finish fights..And I really thought Silva was gonna finish him so that alone impressed me..Hopefully he will take a chance and use his skill set rather then lay n pray for the decision…
all aboard the fitchwagon huh? what did he do against Silva that was so different from his old ways? Silva is the one who made that fight interesting, not Fitch.
He put on a solid performance and said what he was going to do… fought with a renewed hunger and tenacity I can appreciate. You go ahead and stay on the hatewagon if you like but don’t discredit Fitch because he’s probably accomplished a f**k of a lot more then you.
Whats all this talk about a ‘new’ Fitch…. I didnt see him in the Silva fight.
I’m still not a Fitch fan but glad he now realizes he has been playin it to safe which equals to some of the worst fights I’ve ever watched..New attitude hopefully will result in new approach to fights..He was actually more aggressive with Silva rather then just holding on for a win..
He only looked good because silva was good enough to get Fitch off of him until he gassed out. Fitch did the same shit he always does
He’s convinced me look forward to his next fight…but if he goes back to old boring safe-ass ways, that’s it, will never watch another Fitch fight.
I know it takes two to tango. And it kinda sucks that Erick Silva had to lose, but Fitch regained some of my respect for the way he fought this time. He did go for finishes instead of the old Lay n Pray until the round is up.
fitch sux n he aint never gonna be the welterweight champ, not in this lifetime
I didn’t see him perform any different. He stil a boring ass can.The only reason he won is Erick Silva defended his bullshit and tired himself out.Nothing impressive
