Following Big Win Over Okami, Boetsch Wants Dan Henderson Next

“Honestly, the name that really pops in my head is Dan Henderson just because they’re wondering what to do with him. Dan Henderson has been a hero of mine since I started in this sport. I really admire the guy. He’s a great fighter, been at the top for a long time. I think part of taking that step to the next level is beating one of your hero’s and for me, that would be Dan Henderson. I think that would be interesting and very exciting.”

Last weekend at UFC 144 Tim Boetsch upset top contender Yushin Okami after getting battered for the first two rounds to come back and fnish him in the third. Now “The Barbarian” wants a shot at Dan Henderson.

  1. Thom says:

Tim had a great comeback but got completely destroyed by okami the first 2 rounds.. Dan would dominate him easily.

  2. brett says:

I doubt Hendo would drop down to fight Boetsch. Only way he goes back to 185 is to fight Silva.

  3. Nlovan says:

I say give him bisping, Stann, or Munoz. Hendo has bigger fish to fry

  4. Bovice Warren says:

Dan wouldnt take the fight… sorry Tim.

  5. ryeboi says:

This guy thinks he’s got more lucky shots left in him.

  6. cody says:

yeah this was the most exciting thing at 144 but he couldnt do that again if u gave him 10 chances y not bisbing

  7. AK says:

I think that would be biting off more than you can chew Boetsch..good comeback though but just settle for a top 5 guy who stays at MW instead

  8. Jujitsu Player says:

Great comeback but Hendo really?!? He would destroy you. Plus why would Hendo take this fight….IMO the top 5 MW would make short work of Boetsch.

  9. lex walker says:

dan would win easy ol dude was gettin his ass whooped at first any way

  10. MMAnalyst says:

So, he basically got his ass kicked for most of the fight – would likely lose 2 out of three fights against Okami and he um, wants to challenge a LHW who would murder him with one punch. Makes sense.

He would be good to throw at Maia or Wiedman first… though I see him losing both of those.

  11. MARV3L0US says:

okami was dominating until he got hit with those punches in the single collar clinch. but hendo all the way.

  12. Muaythai17-1 says:

LMAO! really Tim? Hendo would destroy Okami in a stand up fight, Okami WRECKED you, i know that MMA logic doesn’t really matter but the fact that someone with less skillful stand up easily outstruck you i htink it’s safe to say one of the BEST of all time strikers can beat you with ease. I think Fedor win or lose, puts kinks in guys armors, people are thinking that if they can overwhelm Dan with powerful hooks they can hurt him? Fedor may be washed up but he’s still a better striker than most and Hendo didn’t outstrike him he reveresed him on the ground and GnP him technically. Hendo will never lose to a less than top 5 ranked fighter IMO!

  13. Shawn says:

LOL! Be careful what you ask for Boetsch. I respect you and all, but being fairly new to the MW division, you should fight some other guys first. Don’t want to rise too fast, cuz it’s a hard fall down.

  14. darrell says:

He must have had a concussion. Did he not watch Hendo beat the crap out of Shogun for most of the fight. Hell I say go for it Hendo, i’m always up for a public execution.

  15. Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

He should back up to 205 if he wants a piece of Hendo. If Okami whooped you soundly for 2 rounds, Hendo will have no problem spamming H-Bombs in your direction.

  16. hanggloves says:

That was one great comeback and I thought Tim would fall in the 3rd round. But his conditioning and cardio was excellent. And the result was that he has still power and quickness in the final round. Those uppercuts really paid off and rocked Okami.

  17. Nick says:

Hendo would drop him. He should fight Bisping or Stann, as long as Stann wins.

  18. Ro says:

Boetsch looked horrible in the first 2 rounds, it was an amazing comeback no doubt about that. But Cmon, first round the H-Bombs would start flying. Plus fighting Boetsch would be a big drop in pay for Hendo, it would struggle to be a co main event in a PPV and theres no way hendo is going to be fiighting smaller shows on FX

  19. slacker says:

What a gift for Henderson! He should take it if Dana bites. Easiest fight he will get while waiting for a title shot.
