Flyweight Ian McCall Discusses UFC Fighter Pay | UFC NEWS
UFC fans were upset headliner Ian McCall made only $9,000 for his losing effort versus Demetrious Johnson. McCall came on The Underground forum and stating that things are not always as reported when it comes to UFC fighter pay.

Posts: 5084Dana says he doesn’t like to give out real numbers, which is def. the truth cause i came on here and saw people saying things like i shoulda got paid more even though i lost but i headlined the card..i did, dana sent me an extra 25k right after the fight plus i got main event sponsor money hahathe UFC pays you to do your job, if you do it than you get paid good.. in my UFC debut i made over 80,000… thats a lot of money for a division half the MMA community didn’t know existed!!
i love all of you guys, most of you know my life story, i just wanted you to know that i get taken care of by the UFC real well, ESPECIALLY when it comes to $!
All i gotta do now is beat the crap out of someone and move forward and start making anderson moneyyy !!!!!!!

He CHOSE to be an MMA fighter. A short-lasting career choice. No one MADE him become an MMA fighter. He signs the contracts, he fights the contracts. If anything NCAA athletes are being robbed more than these guys.
Yeah a free education that in some places worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.. to play soccer????? yeahh Even guys like GSP and Anderson make about as much as a 2nd string QB in the NFL.. Drew Brees just signed his deal worth 20 mil a year.. The Spider has made maybe half that in his career -___-
Think again bud, the top dogs in the UFC make mad coin. Anderson will make more than 10 mil in his run. Gsp has gon on record to say he makes total 4-5 mil per outting. Not bad.

VERY TRUE, especially the football and basketball programs. The top schools make multi-millions per year off the backs of these athletes. The colleges and the NCAA are taking serious advantage of these athletes and they need to be paid.
I think I’d have just kept my mouth shut. Who cares what the fans know about pay. If it wasn’t worth it, they wouldn’t do it.
I would get knocked out for their pay for sure!
