First Ever Ring Girl vs. Ring Girl MMA Fight Booked

And just when you think you’ve seen it all…

A new bout has been added to the upcoming RFA 13 event and it’s putting two ring card girls against each other in a matchup the likes of nothing we have yet to see in Mixed Martial Arts.

On one end we have Alyce Roen. She may not seem like the typical fighter. She’s a tiny thing at only 5′ 2″ and 110 pounds. However, we as fight fans have come to learn quickly that size doesn’t necessarily matter in a fight.

Roen is set to face off against Stephanie Watts, a fellow ring card holder, at RFA 13 on March 7th at the Pershing Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.

This being her first fight she understandably has some nerves. But you know what they say, being nervous is only your body telling you that you’re prepared.

“I’m pumped and nervous,” Roen said to The MMA Corner. “Whether I win or lose, from the recordings I want to see what I do wrong or what I do right. Basically how I move. You can’t get better if you can’t see what you are doing. I’ve been training my ass off, but even if the odds aren’t in my favor… It’s not going to make me stop this sport. I’m just going to keep going.”

Roen, like many other young women who have began to show interest in the sport of MMA, looks to Ronda Rousey and the other big female names as a big source of inspiration.

“I’m a big fan of Ronda Rousey,” Roen said. “When I look at Ronda Rousey, she’s young and she’s very driven and you can tell that she is motivated to be someone in the sport, and that’s someone I look up to.

“When you see someone so driven in the sport and motivated and just loving what they do, it just gives you motivation to keep doing it. They just push you. People like Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate and Sara McMann, it’s great to see, and I want to be one of those people. I want to be a role model.”

With a good head on her shoulders and a strong family relationship it appears that Roen is definitely on the right back to be a role model. Now, the only question is how will she handle being in the cage? Check out her debut on RFA 13 this March 7th to find out.
