UFC NEWS – First Card On FX Taking Shape With Ludwig vs. Neer and Barry vs. Morecraft

The very first UFC event to be televised on FX is currently in the planning stages according to UFC officials and the first two fights have been booked.

A date and location for the event is yet to be announced for the card we will currently call UFC on FX 1, at least until an event name is released.

In welterweight action, Josh Neer and Duane Ludwig have agreed to face off for the fans tuning into FX. Also on the card will be heavyweights Pat Barry and Christian Morecraft.

Ludwig was last seen in action at “UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle” when he got to display his superior striking against Amir Sadollah and outpointed “The Ultimate Fighter” winner to earn a unanimous decision. The win marked his second straight in the UFC’s welterweight division, which appears to be the former lightweight’s new home.

Neer returned to the UFC in last month’s “UFC Live: Cruz vs. Johnson” event with a second round TKO victory over Keith Wisniewski. The win was his seventh in eight fights since leaving the UFC back in late 2009.

Pat “HD” Barry finds himself in a do or die situation. Last seen in a losing effort to Stefan Struve at last month’s “UFC Live: Cruz vs. Johnson” the hard hitting striker has only been able to notch three UFC victories since entering the promotion in 2008. The most recent loss was his second straight and made his overall UFC record just 3-4.

Morecraft is more than likely fighting for his life inside the promotion as well. He last saw action at “UFC Live: Kongo vs. Barry” in a losing effort to Matt Mitrione. The loss was his second in three UFC fights the first of which was to Stefan Struve.
