Feijao Suspended For One Year After Testing Positive For Banned Substance

Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante has been suspended for a year as well as fined $2,500.
MMAFighting.com confirmed the news after hearing from California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) Executive Officer George Dodd.
Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante last competed at Strikeforce: “Barnett vs. Cormier” on May 19th in San Jose, California. He faced Mike Kyle defeating him impressively via submission just 33 seconds into the first round.
No information on what exactly the banned substance was as Dodd did not release that information. However the Cavalcante camp plan to fight the charge by appealing the decision.
Ed Soares, Cavalcante’s manager commented to MMAFighting.
“I believe in his innocence, and we’re fighting it,”
“We stand behind him. There’s a lot of stuff that doesn’t make sense.”
