Featherweights Sicilia, Blanco added to TUF 17 Finale | UFC NEWS
The complete card for the TUF 17 finale is starting to take shape.
Added to the mix is another featherweight bout. This one features Sam Sicilia (11-2) against Maximo Blanco (8-4-1).
The TUF 17 Finale takes place April 13 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
Sicilia was a part of “The Ultimate Fighter Live” and won his UFC debut at the TUF 15 Finale this past June with a second-round KO of Cristiano Marcello. That fight was his debut at 145 pounds. Sicilia followed that outing with a second-round TKO loss to Rony “Jason” Bezerra at UFC 153 in October, a defeat that snapped a seven-fight win streak for Sicilia.
Blanco, who hasn’t won since December 2010 in Japan, is looking to get back on track. He lost a split decision to Marcus Brimage in his promotional debut at UFC 145 this past April.
UFC officials said late Tuesday that event headliner and flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson was off the card and his title defense with John Moraga with an injury.
