Featherweights Rony Jason And Robbie Peralta Set To Square Off On TUF Brazil 3 Finale
According to Combate.com, another bout has been added to The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Brazil 3 Finale card, as the exciting TUF Brazil 1 winner Rony Jason will face off with the hard-hitting Robbie Peralta in a featherweight showdown.
Usually, it’s smarter to wait for the UFC to announce added fights to scheduled cards, but Combate.com has been spot-on with their early fight announcements, when dealing with Brazilian fighters (not surprisingly – it’s a huge media and news source for any and all things MMA, in Brazil, and it’s common for fighters to announce their upcoming fights to them).
Jason will be coming in fresh off a first-round TKO last month at Fight Night 38, which emanated out of Brazil. Prior to that, he had lost his first fight in the UFC (and his lone loss in his last nine outings) when he was KO’d by Jeremy Stephens at the end of last year. He was able to bounce back from the Stephens loss only moments after the fight, as he viciously KO’d a wall in the backstage area.
Jason’s opponent, Peralta, will also be coming in fresh off a KO win, via his third-round knockout against Estevan Payan at UFC 168.
The card is scheduled for May 31, back in good old Sao Paulo, Brazil, and will be headlined by Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva. These two have jawed at one-another for years, and it will be exciting to see them finally do battle inside the cage. The fight will be contested at the 205-pound weight class.
“I want to fight at TUF Brazil 3 finale card”, Jason said, after his Fight Night 38 win. “I want to fight again (on the same card of) Wanderlei Silva.”
Looks like he’s going to get his opportunity.
