Paulo Thiago Still Suffering From Knockout Loss | "My neck still hurts." | UFC News
By Jamie McAllister
Paulo Thiago comments in an interview with TATAME.
Thiago comments on being knocked out at UFC on Fuel 2 as well as his recovery and when he will make his return.
“There was no fight. Congratulations Siyar for having punched me at the right time. There’s no bruise in my face, but my neck still hurts. I don’t know what happened to my neck, he punched it really hard,”
“I went for a swing and wanted to hit him (with) a hook, I wanted to take him down so he wouldn’t keep his guard up. But then he moved. I made a mistake because I was too far from him, so I gave him the chance to counterattack. I made a mistake and paid for it. On a fight we make many mistakes and get things right at the end of the day it’s about who makes fewer mistakes. My mistake was fatal”
“It’s too close, but I’ll be ready in July, complete and trained. I had to take some days off because of the knockout. I’m training now and I guess I’ll be back on the octagon in July or August.”
“Nobody likes to lose. Whenever we fight after a lost there’s the pressure to win. Of course I’ll be under pressure, but I’ll do my best to get back to the winning track.”

I actually thought he was dead
Haha yeah and just the way Siyar looked down at him as he knocked him out. I feel bad for Alves cause Siyar is gunna take his head off too.
Nope , u r wrong
He ain’t ready for ALVES!
bro youve seen all of 20secs of him in the cage and seen him throw 2 punches how can you evaluate him as a fighter and say his gona whoop alves ??? douche
I’m aware of how good siyar stand up is
But alves will **** him
I don’t think Alves can **** him up.. Its going to be a good match but siyar has one punch aka touch knock out power
that one hitter quitter was brutal how is Paulo Thiago even downtalking that KO when he’s so busy sucking the floor. btw his neck hurts cuz that punch ricocheted his head like a speedbag lmfao.
“But then he moved. I made a mistake because I was too far from him, so I gave him the chance to counterattack. I made a mistake and paid for it.”
I don’t think is was so much a mistake by Thiago. Siyar was quick on the feet and moved out of the way really well. Thiago should give him proper respect instead of downtalking it like it was a fluke shot. This is what Siyar does…
He was lucky that Thiago gave him such an open easy target my grandmother could have hit that shot Alves won’t be that predictable
