He had 11 takedown attempts and basically got one and a half and that’s about it. So, if the guy thinks I don’t know how to beat him…I already did beat him! He’s alive right now because there’s rules in MMA and I had to release his neck and let him breathe! You’re welcome, Dominick Cruz, for giving you life and letting you live! Next time, I’m gonna do the same thing. I’m gonna let you live, but it’s gonna be painful. That’s what fighting’s about, right? And that’s how I approach the fight. Let’s finish this fight! And he’s doing ‘point fighting.’ This isn’t a karate tournament. I mean, do you wanna take hits to the head away next?”
If you missed last night’s Inside MMA on HDNet it was an interesting show to say the least. On the panel was a trio of fighters that included KJ Noons, Ronda Rousey and Urijah Faber. On a previous episode the same show they had Dominick Cruz, Miesha Tate and Josh Thomson on their panel.
With the six-fighters all being on the show during different episodes the hosts had plenty of ammunition to encourage debate from the second panel. This is where this quote from Urijah Faber kicks in.
While Dominick Cruz was a guest on the panel he stated that Faber does not know how to beat his style. If you missed the quote you can find it HERE.
Faber didn’t take to kindly to the remark and as such offered up the commentary we featured at the front of this entry.
The two bantamweight fighters are slated to start taping the Ultimate Fighter Live on FX next week and will compete in a rubber match later this year. But which one can back up their words?

at least cruz isn’t a boring LnP’er. he dominates everybody he fights with his amazing speed and crazy combinations of striking and takedowns. he makes his opponents look silly and completely outclassed. there aren’t many guys other than anderson silva that can do that.

On the one hand, I like how he addressed “point fighting.” Even the fighters seem to realize the problem with it. On the other hand, I hate Urijah Faber. I could care less if it is Cruz or someone else, but please someone punch him hard enough to cave in the rest of his chin.
cruz started the entire beef because in faber vs cruz #1 back in the WEC, the promotion didnt put cruz’s face on the flyer so he blamed faber and started signing his autographs over Fabers head? sounds like a crybaby with flapping ***** lips to me.
