EXCLUSIVE | TUF alumni Sam Alvey talks about his title fight for MFC against Elvis Mutapcic | Fist-Ta-Cuff Radio

If you watched “The Ultimate Fighter: Team Carwin vs. Team Nelson,” then you know him as the guy who never stopped smiling, Sam Alvey. In a season not filled with memorable moments, Alvey stuck out with his fight to get in the house when he won via KO throwing a single punch. Alvey was selected first overall by team Carwin, but lost his first fight in the house via Majority Decision.
Alvey is set to be the Co-Main Event in his debut for MFC and he talked with bjpenn.com’s fist-ta-cuff radio show Sunday night about a number of things, but was first asked about how he wasn’t brought back from his season of ultimate fighter to fight in the UFC.
Alvey-
“You know I was surprised, but you know, one door closes and a bigger door opens. I’m fighting for a world title and I couldn’t be more excited about it.”
Sam Alvey is currently on a two fight win streak with both wins coming by way of TKO, and fist-ta-cuff wanted to know a little bit about how the title fight with MFC against Elvis Mutapcic came about.
Alvey –
“You know MFC is all about putting on good fights, and if you look through the history of my fights I got a lot of knockouts and a lot of them come quick. I started the season of ultimate fighter out with a big knockout and I think watching Elvis fight he likes to hit hard too. So I think the match-up just makes perfect sense, two guys who just love punching one another. The offer, they came with it and we jumped at it, me and my team.”

Alvey looked terrible on TUF and blew his chance at big leagues. That stupid smile needs to go because all his opponents feed off of it as weakness. It doesn’t help being on the worst seasonof TUF ever with worst Coach carwin and biggest cheater in MMA history as an assistant coach Nate “THE CHEAT” Marquardt. Dana really let fans down when he let Nate “THE CHEAT” back in UFC after he swore he would never give that habitual ROID CHEAT his 4th chance
