EXCLUSIVE | TUF 17 Fighter Adam Cella Blogs for BJPenn.Com (Part 5) | UFC NEWS

This episode is actually one of my favorites and my reasons are explained early on. It starts with Bubba being disappointed about his loss to Kelvin, and jumps right into Josh versus Tor. Team Sonnen hints at what our entire team thought, what is Tor all about? Nobody really knew anything about him, except that his entire team says he is a “badass Swedish gangster”. That is not why I love this episode so much; I like this because it starts to show everyone’s true personalities. Case in point – is Uriah.
We had heard that Uriah goes a little too hard in practice, and his reasoning behind that is, “I may have to fight him…” Fast-forward a bit and you see a group of guys sitting at the table and Uriah sort of calls out Luke, and at this point in the tournament, that was unnecessary. Cut to all of us sitting around the fire just chatting, it was team Jones and Uriah. So that was awkward enough, and Uriah makes an ignorant comment towards Collin, Josh, and myself. We all realized that you couldn’t joke with Uriah, because his mental state is not completely stable.
Lets back track now and Josh is highlighted and we learned about his issues with a blood clot, him trying out for the show four times, and why everyone calls him dad. The dad thing was a joke, but at the same time we all thought he was acting as the “house dad.” Who else tells people what to eat, when to eat, how to exercise, when to sleep, and the proper way to cut a damn onion! Like I said, it was all in good humor. Also highlighted in this episode is Tor, which was great because like I said before, we knew nothing about him so I feel like I’m learning about him a bit. One thing we know is Tor is a genius. On to the fight…
Jamal said it perfectly; this fight could be the most interesting of the tournament. The fight starts off and for about three and a half minutes of a good clinch fight, and then they break apart and BOOM! Josh comes forward aggressively and catches Tor right on the chin and out he goes! Nothing too exciting, but still was a great fight. This being the fifth fight and we won, essentially we had the choice of the last two fights. First up we chose Clint to fight Jimmy, and this was an awesome fight, but everyone has to wait until next week to get some inside dirt on that one!

Thanks so much for the insight. I really thought Tor would last longer, but I still respect him the same. I sure wouldn’t wanna take a shot like that! I also like that there seems to be more harmony amongst the teams in general. Drama makes good tv I guess, but it’s a little embarrassing to see how supportive the Brazillians are with each other, how much they give back to their communities, etc, when we have idiots like Uriah who show no grace or dignity.
Good luck, guys! I’ll be waiting on the edge of my seat for next week’s fight!
