Exclusive | Nam Phan Interview Hijacked by Renato Laranja | UFC NEWS
Nam Phan is a warrior. He is also one of the nicest guys in UFC history. He competed in the UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck reality show and made it to the semi-final round where he lost a razor thin split decision to Michael Johnson.
Phan has an official record of 2-3, but many believe it should be 3-2. One of his losses is by far one of the greatest robberies in MMA history. Phan fought Leonard Garcia on the finale to his season’s The Ultimate Fighter. He lost the fight by an extremely controversial split decision. It was such a bad call that the UFC awarded him his win bonus despite the judge’s decision. Since that fight he soundly defeated Garcia and stamped that rivalry shut.
One of the most out of character interviews Nam ever did was with Ariel Helwani earlier this year. In the interview, Nam stated that he disliked Steven Seagal’s claims that he was the secret to success for some of MMA’s top fighters. When asked if he would still fight Seagal today, Phan quickly responded.
“For sure. Easy. I fricking hate that guy. There are some people out there who think he can really fight. He’s an actor for God’s sake”.
Knowing that there are many people that feel the same way, Phan didn’t stop there.
“Is he (Seagal) crazy. I don’t know who is more delusional, Seagal or his fans”.
Nam spoke with BJPenn.com about Seagal, his future with the UFC, not getting a spot on the China card, and more. Shortly after, Renato Laranja the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Beetlejuice equivalent equivalent shows up and takes over the interview.

You obviously haven’t a clue what Steven Seagals martia arts credntials are. Beside the FACT he is over 6’6″ he would crush nam pham. It would be like an elephant stepping on an ant. Na phan is like a little school boy who recieved his PHONY bjj blackbelt out of a cereal box.
I’d love to see segal and nam Phan throw down, I bet steve would gas out faster than Shogun! Baha ha haha!
