Exclusive: Josh Thomson Responds To Lady Noises Comments: Diaz only one making noises | BJPENN.COM RADIO
The latest episode of BJPenn.com Radio featured Josh Thomson’s official response to the accusations of Nate Diaz also featured on our from weeks prior. Thomson as always remained humble even in victory, but the AKA fighter says Diaz was actually the one making noises in the octagon. As we all know there is two sides to every story, and the producers at BJPenn.com wanted to give Thomson an opportunity to say his piece, and so he did.
Thomson told George Matthews and Pedro Carrasco, “I could make the point that he made the same noises. The only noises I recall in the fight was when I kneed him a couple times, I kind of knocked the wind out of him when he was against the fence, going (Thomson imitates gasping noises) like he was holding his breath. So if anyone was making noises it was him. There was the finish, maybe he thought the crowd was me making noises when I finished him. Other than that there is no other noise that I recall, that’s the best I can tell you.” So now there is no telling who was making noises inside the octagon that night, perhaps it was the phantom microphone from UFC 159.
Josh also responded to Nate’s claims that the San Jose based fighter was ‘running scared,’ telling George and Pedro, “Honestly I don’t know what he’s talking about, I had a game plan and the game plan was definitely to stay outside of his range. So that’s what I did, I stayed outside of his range and I used my kicks to counteract the length of his punches. Other than that, I obviously used my speed to get in and get out.”
Thomson also made it clear he has no ill will towards Diaz stating, “I respect Nate a lot, I don’t want to talk trash on him, and he’s probably pretty upset. He’s never been finished before, not like that anyways, so I just think he’s a little upset about the situation. I think it’s probably best that we both just get back in the gym and get busy again. Work on getting better today, that’s the best we can do.”
