EXCLUSIVE | Dhiego Lima’s TUF 19, Episode 3 Blog

Fresh off the third episode of ‘TUF 19: Penn vs. Edgar’, Atlanta’s Dhiego Lima, Team Edgar’s second pick, walks us through his first hand experience of what was seen on tonight’s show.

Dhiego is one of the top prospects from this season’s ‘Ultimate Fighter’ reality series and will be blogging for BJPENN.COM each week following the TUF broadcast on FOX Sports 1.

Lets be sure to show some love to the latest edition to our family with a follow on his official twitter account.

His words:

Well, after the first fight things started to get a little heated at the house. Teams really started to get separated.

We (Team Edgar) didn’t like the way they were cheering but we all knew that was going to happen.

The blue team picked Dan Spohn vs Todd [Monaghan] (as the second quarter-final bout) because Todd really got hurt in his fight and Spohn had that nasty KO, so they thought it would be an easy fight.

Todd, for me, I think was a big part of everybody being there. Him being a preacher made everything much smoother. He brought so much peace and love after every church service that it made everyone friendly. I think if he wasn’t in the house, there would’ve been a lot more fights.

Having Renzo Gracie there was amazing. He’s literally the funniest guy I’ve ever met and me being the only Brazilian in the house, I automatically got really close to him. It was an amazing experience having him there.

The fight between Dan and Todd was the exact opposite of what we prepared for.

We were all expecting a stand up war, so Todd was ready to throw down. But Spohn decided to play it safe and just get on top and hold the position. He took the UD [victory] but Dana was not a happy man.

When Todd went to his fight he asked me to come with him, so in the back of my mind I thought it was for a reason.

There ended up being one (a reason), because Team Penn decided to pick me to fight next against Tim Williams!!

On paper this is an outstanding match up.

Tim is a good boxer and a brown belt in jiu jitsu and I have good striking and a purple belt. I’m 9-1 versus his 8-1 record, so everyone was excited for this one, and I promise, it will not disappoint.

I was very excited when they called my name. Can’t wait for next week, don’t miss it!!
