Exclusive: Alchemist Management Announces the Signing of Bec Hyatt

Australian women’s MMA fighter Bec Hyatt’s last trip to the cage may have resulted in a loss, but because of her performance and her willingness to step up on short notice, she came out a winner.

By accepting a strawweight title fight against Carla Esparza on just two weeks notice, Hyatt endeared herself to a new legion of fans as well as a group of individuals who can help her career flourish here in the United States just like it has in Australia.

Alchemist Management, home to many of the sports top fighters including Rory MacDonald, Nate Marquardt, Gegard Mousasi, Stefan Struve and Liz Carmouche is happy to announce the signing of Hyatt to a management agreement.

In a statement released by Partner Charles McCarthy, his excitement was quite evident.

“We at Alchemist are thrilled to have one of the worlds most popular female fighters join our incredible roster of mixed martial artists that includes Liz Carmouche who will make her UFC debut in the main event of UFC 157 on February 23rd. Carmouche along with Ronda Rousey will become the first ever female fighters to compete inside the Octagon. We are committed to working with the top talent in the sport of MMA and feel that Bec fits right in with what we are trying to accomplish.”

Hyatt is just 23-years-old and hails from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. She has a career record of 4-2 and is known for her unique look, aggressive fighting style and an engaging personality that really came out while she was promoting her title fight with Esparza. She is married to professional MMA fighter Dan Hyatt and the couple has two children, Zake who is four-years-old and Enson who is 2.

Hyatt released her own statement regarding her signing with Alchemist:

“I’m super excited to sign with a management firm to the standard of Alchemist and have full belief that this well rounded tean can and will take me to the next level I wish to achieve. I’m looking forward to a big 2013 under their guidance. With over fifteen managers and teams to choose from this past fortnight, Alchemist stood out above the rest due to their roster, personal approach and professional manner. The fact that a former fighter, one who has been through the trial and tribulations I’m experiencing at the moment is a part of the team and has been in direct contact with me along the way is what sealed the deal! My next fight will be in April on the Invicta Fighting Championships 5 card. I’m so honored to be a part of such a professional organization and now having signed with Alchemist you can certainly say I’m living the dream! i told the world I would prove how tough us Aussie girls are at the last Invicta event. Now, after undoubtedly proving that, it’s time to earn my way back to a title shot in the 115lbs division. I promise you all ridiculously stylish violence in April!”
