Evangelista Returns To Strikeforce Against Terry In May

Strikeforce officials have announced a lightweight addition to their May “Heavyweight Grand Prix Final” card in the form of Billy Evangelista vs. James Terry.
The “Strikeforce: Heavyweight Grand Prix Final” is set to feature the heavyweight tournament final between Josh Barnett and Daniel Cormier as well as a lightweight title bout between Gilbert Melendez and Josh Thomson. The show, which will air live on Showtime, is set to go down on May 19 from San Jose’s HP Pavilion.
Evangelista was a stand-out lightweight who seemed to have limitless potential. However he hit a road block that halted his 11-0 record when he faced off with Jorge Masvidal in Columbus, Ohio last year. After his first career defeat he went on to lose a second straight when he got put opposite KJ Noons. The two losses proved that the once unbeaten AKA product has more improvements to make before challenging the top contenders in his division.
Terry is a highly regarded prospect who is also coming off of a loss. He last saw action at “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine” when he dropped a split decision to Nah-Shon Burrell.
