Ellenberger vs. Kampmann Set To Headline The Ultimate Fighter Live Finale

A welterweight bout with serious title implications has just been booked to headline “The Ultimate Fighter” Live on FX Finale set for June 1.
Jake Ellenberger will face Martin Kampmann in Las Vegas, NV in a bout scheduled for five-rounds.
Jake Ellenberger last saw action headlining the UFC on FUEL TV 1 event where he was able to secure a decision victory over the always tough Diego Sanchez. It was his sixth straight win in the UFC in seven bouts. His lone loss came to Carlos Condit in his UFC debut, a fight that he took on just two weeks’ notice.
Stepping in to face Ellenberger is Martin Kampmann. Kampmann has often found himself on the verge of greatness, only to miss the mark with minor imperfections in his performance. He lost a razor close and controversial decision to Jake Shields; he was also put in the controversy spot light after his close decision loss to Diego Sanchez and a bad performance against Paul Daley also haunts his record.
However, the Danish Xtreme Couture product has been able to rattle off two impressive victories as of late over Rick Story and Thiago Alves, both of who are top contenders.

Ellenberger better finish this within the first two… or else he’s done lol… can’t wait for this one! should be a war.
Damn finally a real fight that we won’t have to worry about any boring ass “FITCHING” “WALL N STALL” “point fighting” “Guida BUMP n HUMP” “Greg jackson gameplanning of running away like a ***** today so you can steal a belt today” both these guys are going to throw down and maybe even some high level grappling. Excellent matchup. too bad Condits afraid to fight either of these guys and is going to sit out (LIKE A *****) rest of 2012. very sad when a GREAT fighter has Greg Jackson pulling your strings.
Fitch you read like a “prison queer” who gets a thrill from imagined violence .
You have absolutely no knowledge or appreciation for he talent professional mixed martial arts have or the physical toughness it takes to prepare for a fight even at Amateur level let alone the toughness it takes to compete with a professional fighter who has devotedly trained specifically for you for between 8-12 weeks .
Yer an extremest , a violent homosexual & are the reason New York wont lift its ban on MMA .
wow
Kampmann all the way!
Good fight! Saw it coming though since title contention is at a halt, nothing but top ranked welterweight fighter fighting each other til condit and gsP fight
DUDE well said you nailed it because of GSP needed triple the NORMAL recovery time the WW belt is on ( H A L T ) for a year and nowe Condit is going to play it out just like GSP. I though the whole idea of having an interim was to keep the weight class going while GSP milks his downtime for every day its worth an d then some. I had 4 times surgery and repair GSP had ( 8 hours on table) MCL, ACL, 90% meniscus removed and i was 100% in 3 months running full speed and my knee was better than ever. You tell me GSP needs 14 months. SORRY he just wants to watch everyone battle it so he can spend his usual year of training to exploit a fighters on e weakness. GREG JACKSON RUINED GSP, yes Matt Serra also has 50 % blame but we still love and respect Serra. GSP is no longer a REAL FIGHTER, he’s jabbbbbberfest, point fighter who will never scrap again. fights to not lose PERIOD
I have to agree with ya there Fitch. At least we have Cigano, Bones, Aldo and The Spider that aren’t afraid to fight.
jon jones should not be on your list. the dude IS afraid to fight. thats why he Condit’s whenever anyone gets near him.
This should be a good scrap. I’m kinda leaning towards Jake but ill never count kampmann out. They’re both very good fighters and its pretty close on paper.
Giving it the Jake Ellwhateverhislastnameis, he is 1 tuff dude. my mate from year 13 once sparred with him only lasted bout a minute. funny thing is thats the same thing his gfriend once said….0.o….
Why doesn’t he fight Koscheck
Koscheck is fighting hendricks
This fight has to happen since the road runner won’t fight neither guy.
Kampmann is also the last guy to defeat Carlos Condit.
Should be a back and forth battle for 5 rounds. Truly a Number 1 Contender fight.
Cant believe that Kampmann is a contender, lol that and Clay guida, Ive always figured them to be right in the middle
Agree
Well said (get rid of Fitch) …..
Ellenberger/ kampmann two of the handfull of warriors left in the UFC. If the trend continues the way it has been going look for more “FITCHING” “point fighting” (GSP) Bump n Hump (GUIDA) (track fighting-running away) (Condit-Frankie) maybe someday they will bring back an organization with Pride Rules and we will see some REAL FIGHTS again
Haha, dude I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed someone that hates an athlete as much as you hate Fitch.
Its not so much hate as it is disgust in how he uses his lay n pray and pitter patter to lay on other fighters for 15 minutes. YES he is the best weight cutter in MMA I will give him that. most people don’t know Fitch started his MMA-lay n pray career at LIGHTHEAVYWEIGHT and got his ass kicked and we all know as a wrestler he was cutting weight then also. Fitch uses his 200 plus pounds at fight time to lay on his opponents and eeeeek out boring ass decsions. if all fighters were one tenth as boring as Fitch MMA would have failed 10 years ago. UFC needs to get rid of Fitch ASAP
You make me LOL with that name and the ‘disgust’ it encompasses!
This is an awesome fight! I gotta go with Kampmann cause he is so well – rounded, although both have a great chance. I want to see what both of these guys are made of in a 5 rounder.
So, what’s next for Jake Shields? Haven’t heard anything.
hopefully getting thrown back to strikeforce so we don’t have to watch jis boring performances in the ufc.
Well, he just won, so I think he bought himself some time. He had mentioned a few months ago that he wanted to step up to MW to get out of Nick’s way but with Nick out for awhile now and possible retirement, lol, he may take at least one more WW fight. If Condit decides to take one fight before GSP, I would love to see him fight Shields or Kampmann, since he lost to both first time round.
Condit should b fighting.. Defend your fake belt
Tough fight to call but I’m going with Kampmann, he is a durable fighter , well rounded , never says die & usually finds a way to win , I like him .
I’m rooting for Kampmann but unfortunately i think Berger will get this, that Killer Right Hand
Damn.. Hard not to like Ellen but got my boy MK FTW!
