Ellenberger vs. Hieron moved to UFC on FX 5 | UFC News

By: Chris Taylor
Due to the cancellation of UFC 151, Jake Ellenberger (27-6 MMA, 6-2 UFC) vs. Jay Hieron (23-5 MMA, 0-2 UFC) now will take place in October at UFC on FX 5.
UFC 151 was cancelled today, when light heavyweight title challenger Dan Henderson was forced out of the main event with an MCL injury. UFC President Dana White tried to save the 151 card by pitting champion Jon Jones against Chael Sonnen, who had offered to step in for Henderson on 8 days notice. But surprisingly, Jones decided not to take the fight with Sonnen and soon after UFC 151 was lost.
The co-main event for the cancelled UFC 151 show has found a new home in Minneapolis. It is the UFC’s first trip to Minnesota since UFC 87 back in 2008. The main event of the evening features Travis Browne vs. Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.
Ellenberger and Hieron first fought back at a 2006 IFL event. Ellenberger entered with a 12-0 record, but Hieron won the contest by unanimous decision. Ellenberger was initially supposed to face Josh Koscheck at UFC 151 but Josh suffered an injury and Hieron wasted no time stepping up for the rematch.
UFC on FX 5 now includes the following bouts:
•Travis Browne vs. Antonio Silva
•Jake Ellenberger vs. Jay Hieron
•John Dodson vs. Jussier Formiga
•Rob Broughton vs. Matt Mitrione
•Josh Neer vs. Justin Edwards
•Phil Davis vs. Wagner Prado
•Mike Pierce vs. Aaron Simpson
•Yves Edwards vs. Jeremy Stephens
•Marcus LeVesseur vs. Carlo Prater
•Phil Harris vs. Darren Uyenoyama
•Diego Nunes vs. Bart Palaszewski

Decent card.
It’s good to see Dana and Joe are working to get these fighters paid.
Good card for an FX event.
This is a good main event, but the co headline kinda sucks :/ i know Hieron is a tough guy and has fought the best that WW has to offer, but he shoulndt be in the co main event, he has never won under the UFC banner
