Edimilson Souza replaces Sicilia, faces Felipe Arantes at UFC Fight Night 28

According to a report from Brazilian news outlet ‘Globo’, UFC featherweight Sam Sicilia (11-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) has been forced out of his scheduled UFC Fight Night 28 bout with Felipe Arantes (15-5-1 MMA, 2-1-1 UFC). Stepping in to replace Sicilia is promotional newcomer Edimilson Souza (12-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC).

Souza joins the UFC on the strength of a seven-fight win streak, with all 7 victories coming by way of knockout or TKO, five of which occured in the first round. The Jungle Fight champion has finishes in all 13 of his career wins.

Meanwhile, Arantes is coming off a first-round TKO of Pepey at the UFC on FUEL TV 10 event in June. He’ll be looking to stretch his unbeaten streak to four, and will fight in his home country of Brazil for the fifth straight time in the UFC.

UFC Fight Night 28 takes place September 4 live from Brazil. The main event features a light heavyweight bout between Ryan Bader and Golver Teixeira.

Felipe is lucky that he’s no longer facing Sam sacilia. This nobody is just another desperate fighter filling in cuz there is nobody else or the real fighters are already booked for future fights and in camps. Oh we’ll I will just have to pull out my Chris weidman picture and make out with it.
