Dustin Poirier vs. Chan Sung Jung Set For Main Event On FX 3

A featherweight main event between two of the UFC’s hottest prospects has been set for the UFC’s return trip to FX TV on May 15th.
The two fighters took to twitter earlier this week to talk up a potential matchup and the UFC responded by booking “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung and Dustin Poirier in a main event that is sure to deliver fireworks.
UFC officials just announced the main event as official moments ago.
UFC on FX 3 is set to take place from the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA on May 15.
Jung has quickly risen to super stardom in the sport. “The Korean Zombie” is currently undefeated in the UFC, most recently taking out former number one-contender Mark Hominick in just 7-seconds. A result which ties the fastest KO in UFC history.
Poirier also holds an undefeated record while fighting for the UFC. With a five fight win streak to his credit and only one-professional loss on his record, “The Diamond” has been in talks for a title shot for some time now. However during last weekend’s UFC 143 event where he took out Max Holloway in the very first round, he stated that he didn’t feel ready for Aldo.

Nice…a warm up fight for Poirier before he goes and gets that belt…
lol gets that belt? From who? You think he stands a chance against Aldo? Maybe if Aldo moves up Poirier can fight for the interim featherweight belt.
I just don’t see anyone in featherweight beating Aldo.
Dude, there’s only been twice that I have seen a fighter fight his first fight in the UFC and say this is the real deal. Gsp and Jon bones….and this is gonna be my third I’m calling right now Poirier is the real deal..trust me this kid will beat Aldo…Aldo is a bad dude don’t get me wrong, but Poirier is the next big fighter in the UFC to carry the belt for years
Poirier is a good fighter and might become a great fighter even, I have to agree on that one, but Aldo is the real deal in my eyes and as long as he stays in featherweight noone else will get the chance to be the champ.
Poiriers stand up looked sub-par in his last fight so this will be interesting, if the Korean zombie win I say give him a title shot
Is it on FUEL or FX 3?
lol yea it’s confusing…
Porier by KO
once again the ufc decides to instead give an asian a title shot after the first twister in ufc and a 7 second KO.. to give him a dude who will lay on him all fight long. yet they give title shots to dudes who win 1-2 fights by boring decisions all the time. so racist.
Dam James Troy…when are you gonna snap that this is mix martial arts, and not street fighting. The point is to mix any of your fighting abilities that you think are best to help you win. Don’t blame the guy on top, blame the guy on bottom for not being able to get up. If you can’t stop or get up from a takedown well thats your problem and you have no business in mma..especially the UFC…
Laying on top of the opponent without attempting to undertake some sort of technique is a form of inactivity.
Refs should stand them up way earlier…I think that they are realizing that lately, cause a few refs like Big John have noticeably been standing them up sooner.
Diamonds>Zombies>Machines
Both would get wrecked by aldo.
Will be looking to put money on Poirier especially if Zombie opens up as favorite. I’m a zombie fan more than Poirier but this is good money here.
Asians are always the underdog. WAR ZOMBIE!
