WSOF 2 Results: Dugulubgov Dominates Wade on Feet, Ground at WSOF 2 | MMA News
Ozzy Dugulubgov used a steady stream of counter left hands and a superior ground-and-pound attack to hand Chris Wade his first professional loss at World Series of Fighting 2.
All three judges saw the fight 30-27.
Dugulubgov (4-1), of Hackensack, NJ, got into trouble only once, when Wade (5-1) secured a guillotine choke with a minute left in the fight. Dugulubgov said the guillotine never was close to finishing him.
“He didn’t have it that deep,” he said. “I has his wrist and I was waiting for him to let to.”
Content to circle and wait for Wade to attack, Bugulubgov spent the first round countering Wade’s advances with vicious left hands. When they did go to the ground, Bugulubgov worked his way into half guard and landed punches and elbows.
Dugulubgov put Wade on the seat of his pants in the second with a short left. Wade, fighting out of Long Island, got up, but Dugulubgov quickly wrestled him to the ground, where he sent elbows and short rights crashing down from side control.
The Renzo Gracie fighter stayed glued to Wade in the third, working from side control and delivering knees to the body and shots to the head before Wade secured the guillotine. Dugulubgov kicked off the cage and escaped about 15 seconds later.
